EMMANUEL’S SONS IN THE MINISTRY
An ongoing feature of our centennial celebration is welcoming the
pastors who are products of this congregation. They will be guest
preachers on the following dates:
October 14—Rev. Al Beyer, Pastor of Trinity, Culbertson,
Montana
October 21—Rev. Myron Deschaine, Pastor of House of Prayer,
Franklin, Wisconsin
November 11 —Rev. Grant Quever, Intentional Interim Pastor for
the Greater Milwaukee and South Central Synods
of Wisconsin
Coffee receptions will be served on these Sundays for fellowship
time with our guest pastors.

First Annual Church Work Bee

Saturday, September 29th
8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
If you haven’t already signed up to take part in this event, you
may still come and be part of the fun, fellowship and working
together that will mark the day. Interior cleaning projects and
outside landscaping projects will be supervised by member of the
Property Committee. There will be something for everyone to do.
All you have to do is show up and take part in a job of your liking
or something you feel skilled in doing. Lunch will be served at
noon for all workers.
We were recently notified by our Synod office that full time
seminarians Ann Gonyea-Alexander, David Hendirckson, Tera
Kossow, Mark St. Aubin and Tina St. Aubin each received $254
for the 2012-2013 school year from the Emmanuel Lutheran
Church of Menominee Seminarian Support Fund, administered by
our Synod. Part time seminarians Julie Belew, Bill Tetza, Soren
Schmidt and Diane Srutowski each received $127. In addition,
seminarian Jill Lemke received $63.
In his letter to these students, Bishop Thomas Skrenes wrote,
“I am very proud of the people of our Synod! You are financially
fortunate to be a member of one of our congregations. A high
priority of the Northern Great Lakes Synod is the financial support
of our seminarians. We are committed to assisting you with the
cost of your theological education. Your preparation for ministry
is important to us, and we want to financially support you. All
scholarship money is paid directly to your seminary and will be
applied to your personal tuition obligations.”
Emmanuel members can individually contribute to our Seminarian
Support Fund through special gifts, estate gifts, and the like. For
more information, contact the church office.
Thank you to the families and friends of Helen Langlois and
Donald Johnson for recent memorial gifts in their names to
Emmanuel’s Memorial Fund.
Many thanks to Jeantte Lawton for several years of faithful service to
the church’s custodians by coming in one morning each week to vacuum
the sanctuary, narthex and offices. Jeanette has earned her retirement
from this service. Are there others who would take Jeanette’s place in
this much appreciated service to the church? Please inquire or offer
your services to the church office staff. Thank you.
