ADAM HUTCHINSON, HEAD COACH<br />
Adam Hutchinson is in his fourth season<br />
as head basketball coach at <strong>Washington</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Lee</strong>.<br />
Hutchinson came to <strong>Washington</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Lee</strong> after spending two seasons as the head<br />
coach at Case Western Reserve University in<br />
Clevel<strong>and</strong>, Ohio. In those two seasons, he led<br />
the Spartans to a 14-36 overall record while<br />
rebuilding the program. His initial recruiting<br />
class included eight players, most notably<br />
Carson Oren, the 2003 University Athletic<br />
Association Rookie of the Year.<br />
Prior to CWRU, Hutchinson was the head<br />
coach at Stevens Institute of Technology from<br />
1999-01, compiling a 19-31 overall mark. His second season resulted in a 12-13<br />
overall record, a five-game improvement over his first campaign.<br />
Hutchinson began his collegiate coaching career in 1994 as an assistant<br />
coach at his alma mater, Amherst College. In his two seasons with the Lord Jeffs,<br />
he was responsible for<br />

scorer in All-American<br />
Jamal Wilson <strong>and</strong> helping<br />
lead the team to the NCAA<br />
Division III Elite Eight.<br />
In 1996, Hutchinson<br />
assumed the role of player<br />
<strong>and</strong> coach with the Cardiff<br />
Clippers of the English<br />
National Basketball<br />
League before spending<br />
the 1997-98 <strong>and</strong> 1998-99<br />
seasons as an assistant<br />
coach at Emory University.<br />
Originally a walkon<br />
player at Amherst,<br />
Hutchinson started two<br />
seasons at guard in leading<br />
the Lord Jeffs to the<br />
ECAC Tournament each<br />
year. He was named team<br />
captain as a senior.<br />
Hutchinson graduated<br />
from Amherst in 1993<br />
with a bachelor of arts in African-American studies <strong>and</strong> earned his master of science<br />
in sport management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1997. He<br />
<strong>and</strong> his wife, Erin, have two sons, Jason <strong>and</strong> Donald.<br />
