Asian Festival And
Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival
The first Asian Festival was
at Marshall Park in uptown
Charlotte. The purpose of
the Festival is to unite all Asian
communities in the Charlotte
area to celebrate the Asian-
Pacific Heritage Month of May.
Attendance in Festival continued
to grow in the ensuing years,
drawn by the colorful and diverse
cultural presentations, food and
retail selections. After a few years
at the Wachovia Atrium, the Asian
Festival moved to its current
location at Ramsey Creek Park,
and, together with the Dragon
Boat Festival Race, continues to
grow as the Carolinas’ premier
Asian cultural event.
The Asian Festival is a familyfriendly
festival that is designed
to celebrate the traditions and
unique Asian-Pacific cultures
represented in the greater
Charlotte region. The organizers
hope that in addition to providing
an opportunity for local Asians
and Asian-Americans to celebrate
their heritage that the festival will
serve as a cultural bridge to the
community at large.

The Charlotte Asian Festival and Charlotte Dragon
Boat Festival Races are held at Ramsey Creek
Park on Lake Norman in Cornelius, NC. The
waterfront park covers 46 acres and features
beaches, boat launching and docks, a new
playground, picnic shelters, nature trails, and a
fishing pier. The trails offer a great place to walk
and admire nature at its finest.
The Asian Festival consists of the following:

Dragon Boat Festival Race
Miss Asia Carolinas
Traditional Asian Food and Crafts
Vendor and Sponsor Booths
Heats for the dragon boat race begin at 9am.
Races will continue throughout the day. The Asian
Festival opens at 11:a.m. and runs until 4:00 pm.
Please note that there is no public parking for the
Asian Festival at Ramsey Creek Park. Parking is
available at 8900 North Pointe Executive Park,
Huntersville, NC 28078 with complimentary
shuttle service to the festival
