Team <strong>of</strong> the 361st Infantry<br />

Camp Lewis--Wuhmgton.<br />

This army team is <strong>of</strong> particular interest to <strong>Idaho</strong> rooters. as three <strong>of</strong><br />

its members played on the <strong>Idaho</strong> eleven during their college days.<br />

'Iurk" Gerlough {third from right in bottom row} played fullback<br />

and end on three <strong>Idaho</strong> teams. In 1916 he was mentioned by Walter<br />

Camp as one <strong>of</strong> the 100 best players in the game. He played left half<br />

on the Camp team and was the chief <strong>of</strong>fensive unit in their attack.<br />

He was a strong defensive player. and a good broken-<br />

Grover Evans. right end on the team, was sick at the time the picture<br />

was taken. "Wild Cat," as he was better known, was the hardest hitting<br />

end on the 1916 Varsity, and his aggressiveness was a big factor in its<br />

success.<br />
