<strong>Clinical</strong> <strong>Trials</strong> <strong>Center</strong><br />
The <strong>Clinical</strong> <strong>Trials</strong> <strong>Center</strong> was established in<br />
2006 under the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>Bautista</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Medicine</strong> Research Deanship in order to promote<br />
clinical research especially in clinical<br />
trials. It is a convenient facility for outpatient<br />
clinical trials, located on the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>Bautista</strong><br />
<strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong> premises.<br />

Patient Demographics<br />
Our Facilities are located in Caguas, Puerto<br />
Rico, near to the metropolitan area <strong>of</strong> <strong>San</strong><br />
<strong>Juan</strong>. This area remains one <strong>of</strong> the fastest<br />
growing with a population estimated at<br />
140,500, plus 400,000 population from the<br />
eastern area.<br />
In addition, the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>Bautista</strong> Medical<br />
<strong>Center</strong>, located in the same facilities <strong>of</strong> our<br />
Medical <strong>School</strong>, have an outpatient clinic with<br />
specializations in Pediatrics (Nephrology, Endocrinology,<br />
Gastroenterology, Pneumology,<br />
and Hematology sub-specialities), Gynecology,<br />
Internal <strong>Medicine</strong>, Orthopedics and Surgery.<br />
This outpatient clinic serves over 120<br />
patients a day.<br />
The <strong>Center</strong> aims to provide a research infrastructure<br />
to support clinical trials carried out in<br />
Puerto Rico. In addition, provides quality clinical<br />
research services to both industry sponsors<br />
as well as individual investigators and<br />
entrepreneurs who are interested in clinical<br />
drug trials and device development.<br />
Our experienced personnel are on hand to<br />
perform phlebotomy, blood, and specimen<br />
processing, and handle specimen packaging,<br />
shipping, and storage.<br />
