President Tylenda stated that there will be an I.V. Transit Forum this<br />
coming Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in the <strong>College</strong> Center during<br />
<strong>College</strong> Hour. IVC Students will have an opportunity to voice their<br />
concerns and whether the new bus route is meeting student’s needs.<br />
Publicity regarding this forum should be up and running this week.<br />
President Tylenda also stated that the CART (Continuous Accreditation<br />
Readiness Team) Forum will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 and<br />
Thursday, February 28, 2013 in the <strong>College</strong> Center during <strong>College</strong><br />
Hour. Senators assigned to this forum must meet with Vice President<br />
for Academic Services, Ms. Kathy Berry this Thursday, February 14,<br />
2013 at 12 Noon in her office.<br />
Vice President<br />
Elections<br />
VP Reyes informed the ASG that he received a text message from<br />
Calexico Council Member, Mr. John Renison yesterday informing him<br />
of the new bus route to IVC.<br />
Sweetheart Elections were held last week. Election Officer Lopez<br />
stated that a total of 167 students voted. The Sweetheart winner will be<br />
announced during the Men’s Basketball Game. The game will be this<br />
Friday, February 15, 2013 starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Gym. Coronation<br />
will be held during half-time.<br />
Commissions<br />
Activities The Talent Show has been scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2013.<br />
After a brief discussion whether an IVC Idol might work better than a<br />
Talent Show, Activities Commission was undecided. The Senate will<br />
discuss this item during their Planning meeting on Wednesday.<br />
Affairs<br />
Health Fair 3/14/13<br />
Athletics<br />
Secretary Armenta reminded everyone to meet at the Office of Student<br />
Affairs this Friday, February 15 no later than 12 Noon for the<br />
Sweetheart event’s set up. The ASG will be picking up the helium tank<br />
this Wednesday.<br />
Senator Beltran stated that there will be a meeting held tomorrow,<br />
Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Office of Student<br />
Affairs, to discuss the upcoming Health Fair scheduled in March.<br />
Rosanna Lugo will also be attending to help the Affairs Commission<br />
with this event.<br />
Senator Ibarra announced the upcoming Sports events this week at<br />
IVC:<br />
The Men’s Basketball team will be playing against Miramar<br />
<strong>College</strong> this Friday, February 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.<br />
Cultural<br />
VP Reyes stated that Music Instructor, Dr. Van Decker and Political<br />
Science Instructor, Mr. Kevin White have confirmed their participation<br />
in this year’s Black History Celebration scheduled for Thursday,<br />
February 21, 2013 in the <strong>College</strong> Center during <strong>College</strong> Hour.<br />
