The topic of Power Quality is very broad and covers many
fields of applications and also many solutions of main circuits
topologies and control methods for the converters used in
power conditioning systems. Under the umbrella of Power
Quality are also different subjects concerned with the analysis
of the output energy parameters of the voltage and current
fed inverters. Over thirty papers from this area have
been submitted in this area. After reviewing twenty of them
were accepted for presentation. During the oral session
three papers have been presented (one presentation has not
been done because the authors were absent). This session
was chaired jointly by a world famous scientist, prof. Hirofumi
Akagi (Tokyo Institute of Technology) and prof. Roman Barlik
(Warsaw University of Technology). Each presentation has
caused a great interest among the participants who actively
participated in the question and comments time. The hall
was full of people among whom there were many students. A
hot discussion has been held after the official end of the oral
session. Prof. Akagi was surrounded by participants who
were interested in the details of his instantaneous active and
reactive powers theory. Prof. Akagi has done his best to
answer all the questions connected with one- and three
phase systems.
After the end of the Power Quality oral session (from right : Hirofumi
Akagi, Tarafdar Hague, Rodrigues Limongi, Roman Barlik)
Additionally, a plenary session, chaired by Prof. Akagi
(“Modern Active Filters and Traditional Passive Filters”) took
place. The following papers have been presented during the
oral session:
• A NOVEL OPTIMAL CONTROLLER FOR TRACKING OF REFER-
