Please read the enclosed information before you come to the show together with the 

ring plan and show plan. We feel certain that you will find something amongst this 

information that will make your day easier and more enjoyable. It is our hope that 

both you and visitors shall have a pleasant and worthwhile day of competition. 

With this information we enclose confirmation of your competition entry, number 

that is to be used at judging, ring plan, show plan and “Important Information 

for Exhibitors”. 

Your number together with the compulsory vaccination certificate is the 

entry ticket for you and your dog. We ask that you check that you have received 

the correct number. Your dog’s catalogue number/competition number can be 

found in the enclosed confirmation. If there is something that is not correct, it will 

be corrected at the Veterinary Examinations, near the East entrance or at the main 

entrance to the show. Svenska Kennelklubben personnel will be on hand by the 

sign “Unclear matters” 

World Winner titles: 

Only breeds that are recognised by FCI can be awarded World Winner titles. 

World Junior Winner 2008 (JWW-08) The title will be awarded to the Best Junior 

Dog and the Best Junior Bitch in each FCI-recognised breed, provided that these 

dogs have been graded ”excellent”. 

World Veteran Winner 2008 (VWW-08) The title will be awarded to the Best 

Veteran Dog and the Best Veteran Bitch in each FCI-recognised breed, provided 

that these dogs have been graded ”excellent”. 

World Winner 2008 (WW-08) The title will be awarded to the CACIB-winning 

dog and CACIB-winning bitch in each FCI-recognised breed (or, for FCI-recognised 

breeds not entitled to compete for CACIBs, to exhibits awarded Best Dog and Best 

Bitch at competitions of the equivalent status).

Important information for 

exhibitors

Numbers for dog owners from outside Europe can be 

collected at respective rings. 

Dogs must not be kept in hot cars/campers/caravans. In the event 

of this dogs can be taken into custody with help of the police. 

Take care of your Dog! Remember that it can get extremely 

hot for a dog in a cage. Don’t leave your dog unsupervised. 

Treatment of coat, nose and skin 

Dogs that have had their coat, nose or skin treated with substances that change their colour, 

or texture, will not be allowed to take part in the show. This includes the use of e.g. colourants, 

hairspray, gel, mousse, chalk and talcum powder. Only preparations that are clearly 

intended to facilitate combing/brushing (conditioner/balsam) and/or give an anti-static effect 

may be used on an otherwise untreated coat prior to taking part in the show. 

Doping and other inappropriate measures 

the exhibition of sick or injured dogs is not permitted nor is the exhibition of dogs that 

have subjected to measures aimed at altering their appearance, performance or reactions, 

or intended to conceal signs of injury or illness. Detailed rules can be found in National 

Regulations Regarding the Doping of Dogs. It is incumbent upon the person responsible 

for a dog to ascertain how a specific treatment or other measure may affect the eligibility of 

that dog to take part in breed shows. When the show committee decides to carry out tests in 

order to ascertain possible doping, it is incumbent upon the person responsible for a dog to 

make that dog available for testing. For information on waiting periods following medical 

treatment please contact Svenska Kennelklubben or e-mail to: dopk@skk.se. 

Muzzles and prong collars 

According to the Swedish Animal Protection Law it is not allowed to use so called prong 

collars. Dogs seen wearing a prong collar will not be admitted to the show venue/exhibition 

area. 

A muzzle may be used when entering or exiting the show venue, but not while a dog is 

being judged in the ring.

Veterinary examination 

All participating dogs must pass a veterinary 

examination. Veterinary examinations will take 

place both at the East entrance Main entrance, 

see show plan. At these entrances you can also 

find ticket offices for admission to the show (for 

visitors and the general public).This examination 

is available between 7.00 a.m. -12.00 p.m. 

N.B! Only dogs that have been entered into 

World Dog show or Circuit with a number, 

and dogs with special permission, may enter 

the show venue/exhibition area. 

Pregnant bitches may not take part in trials or 

competition 30 days before whelping, calculated 

from 63 days after the first mating. Pregnant 

bitches may also not take part before 75 days 

after whelping regardless of the result of the 

whelping. 

Vaccination check 

Will take place in connection with the veterinary 

examination. We remind you that an 

exhibitor is responsible for making sure that a 

participating dog has received all its prescribed 

vaccinations. 

Distemper 

Dogs taking part in the show must have been 

vaccinated against distemper in accordance 

with the following: 

Dogs under 1 year old: no younger than 10 

weeks old. Dogs over 1 year old: vaccinated 

when no younger than 10 weeks old and with 

the most recent vaccination having been carried 

out within the past 4 years. First- time vaccinations 

must have been carried out at least 14 days 

before the day of competition. 

Parvo virus 

Svenska Kennelklubben recommends that all 

dogs be vaccinated against parvo. 

Unclear matters 

Close to the veterinary examinations is an 

enquiry desk where Svenska kennelklubben 

personnel, can help you with enquires regarding 

your entry, vaccinations etc.

Worming 

Dogs taking part in competition that are not 

from Sweden or Norway must be wormed 

against Tapeworm in accordance with Swedish 

import legislation. 

Bank/Cash point/ATM 

Can be found in the entrance hall and in the 

gallery walk. 

Children’s crèche 

A children’s crèche is available organised by 

Svenska Kennelklubben, see show plan. 

Show committee 

Contact Svenska Kennelklubben’s information 

desk in the main entrance. 

Champion 

Dogs owned by international exhibitors that 

have attained merits for Swedish championship 

titles can reapply at the show venue. Applications 

will be accepted when proof of previously 

held championship titles in other countries, plus 

WCC has been shown. See show plan. 

Entrance fees 

Adult 140 SEK / approx. 15* € Member/ 

Pensioner and children between 7-15 years 

old 100 SEK / approx. 10* € and 450 SEK / 

approx 50* € for families. 4-day ticket World 

Dog Show 450 SEK/50* €. Valid membership 

cards/pensioner IDs must be shown in order 

to obtain a discount on the entrance fee. N.B! 

The entrance fee for handlers with dog, who 

are competing at the World Dog Show on the 

second day or alternatively at one of the Circuit 

shows, is 100 SEK/10* €. Admission only at a 

separate entrance at the East entrance’s Veterinary 

Admissions until 11.30 a.m. Vaccination 

certificates and numbers must be shown.

Finals 

Will take place in hall A and start at 3 p.m. 

(15.30) on Tuesday through to Sunday. The 

programme can be found in the show catalogue 

and in the show programme. Participating dogs 

and handlers will receive a detailed program 

schedule in the ring. We reserve the right 

for any possible changes that may occur. Pay 

attention to messages given over the public 

address system. 

Photographing of BOB-dogs and 

title winning dogs 

BOB-winning dogs are offered free photographing 

of their dog. The pictures will be published 

at www.worlddogshow2008.se. Official photographing 

of other World winners will also take 

place. More information about photographing 

can be obtained in the ring. 

Freestyle competition 

Will take place in the finals ring in hall A. 

Grooming area 

In each hall there is a marked off area for grooming 

with some access to electricity (230V). 

Bring your own extension lead. 

Special Prizes 

Sale/distribution of rosettes and special prizes 

will take place at Svenska Kennelklubben’s sales 

stand in the entrance hall at the main entrance, 

bring your dog’s critique with you.

Svenska Kennelklubben’s information desk is 

in the entrance hall at the main entrance and 

opens at 7 a.m. (07.00).

Information personnel 

At the main entrance there are personnel that 

can, amongst other things, help you to find 

the right ring and hall. Information personnel 

will also go from hall to hall and answer your 

questions. 

Junior handling 

Qualifying competitions Thursday to Sunday 

with the finals on Sunday. The winner will 

be awarded the title of World Winner Junior 

Handler 2008. The competition takes place 

in hall A.

We offer the possibility to have your dog’s

Word Championship in obedience will take 

place in hall C.

There is a public meeting place by Pressbyrån 

(newsagents) in the entrance hall at the main

Parking ticket machines in the area. Fee 70 

SEK/per day. There are also a few machines 

that take bank/credit cards. Caravans and 

mobile homes may only park in a specially 

allotted area, se show plan.

Exercising your dog 

There are specific areas where you can exercise 

your dog between hall B and C, open from 7.00 

a.m. You may also exercise your dog outside of 

the show venue, however no earlier than 09.00 

am, exit through special dog exit/entrance 

adjacent to the Entrances. You must have been 

rubber stamped and show your dog’s number to 

be readmitted into the show. IMPORTANT! 

You must pick up after your dog. If an “accident” 

occurs inside the building, call a steward 

or other member of staff and they will arrange 

for someone from the cleaning patrols to come 

and deal with it. 

Restaurants 

Café Gallery, Burger Shop and Nigiri Sushi 

can be found on the gallery walkway. Garden, 

E.A.T. and News Bar are in the entrance hall. 

There will also be some kiosks open on both 

days. Dogs are not permitted in the restaurants. 

In hall C there is Burger Shop and Café.

Smoking 

Is not allowed in the building. 

Sekretariat 

Is by Svenska Kennelklubben’s information desk 

in the entrance hall at the main entrance.

The assembly point, for dogs that have reached 

the finals, are situated by the final ring in hall 

A. preliminary judging will take place approx 

30 minutes before the final. See schedule in the 

catalogue. Svenska Kennelklubben will provide 

free light refreshments for those waiting.

The veterinary control station is open between 07:00 and 11:30 am. 

The judge goes trough approx. 20-25 dogs per hour. This can be used as a guideline when estimating 

what time your dog should be in the ring. The responsibility of being at the show in plenty of time 

before the dog is to be judged lies solely upon the exhibitor. 

There will be no refunds of entry fees due to change of judges or illness. 

NB!!! Be at the show well in advance – please take queues at the veterinary control station and car 

park into consideration.

Fotografering Bäst i Rasen 

Hund som blivit BIR fotograferas utan kostnad i västra änden av 

gallerigången, nära finalringen. Du får en utskrift av bilden i A5- 

storlek. Alla bilder publiceras i Hundsport och på www.worlddogshow2008.se 

tillsammans med ras, namn och ägare. 

Best of Breed photography 

All dogs that have been Best of Breed will be photographed free 

of charge at the west end of the Gallery Walk (close to the Main 

Ring). You will get an A5 sized print of the picture. All pictures will 

be published in Hundsport, the Svenska Kennelklubben member 

magazine, and at www.worlddogshow2008.se with breed, name 

and owner stated. 

Fotografering World Winner 

Hund som erhållit en Världsvinnar-titel (WW, JWW eller VWW) 

kan fotograferas i västra änden av Hall C. Kostnaden är 150:-/15€ 

och du får då en utskrift i A5-storlek av bilden med vinnartiteln 

angiven. Alla bilder publiceras på www.worlddogshow2008.se. 

World Winner photography 

All dogs that have been awarded a World Winner title (WW, JWW 

or VWW) may be photographed at the west end of Hall C. The 

price is 150 SEK/15€ and you will get an A5 sized print of the photo, 

including the winner title. All pictures will be published at www.
