Division of Education Certifications<br />

Effective September 1, 2013, PA<br />

Instructional Certifications offered in<br />

<strong>Immaculata</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s College of<br />

Graduate Studies include the grade<br />

bands of: PreK-4, Special Education<br />

PreK-8, Secondary Education content<br />

area 7-12 and Specialists K-12 (BCIT,<br />

FCS, French, Spanish, Music). New<br />

certification requirements are<br />

outlined in the 2012 – 2104 Graduate<br />

catalog.<br />

New Requirements for Principal<br />

and Letter of Eligibility:<br />

EDL 643 Special Education for School<br />

Leaders is now required as part of<br />

the certification programs for<br />

Principal and the Letter of<br />

Eligibility. Students enrolling in the<br />

above certifications or degree<br />

programs leading to certifications<br />

under the requirements of the 2012-<br />

2014 catalog must take EDL<br />

643. Students who enrolled under<br />

earlier catalogs who have not<br />

completed these certifications by<br />

January 1, 2014 must take EDL 643.<br />

Please plan your schedules<br />

accordingly and consult with your<br />

advisor if you have any further<br />

questions.<br />

Doctoral Students <br />

EdD and PsyD Doctoral Students who<br />

have completed all of their<br />

coursework towards dissertation but<br />

need additional time to complete<br />

the dissertation will be required to<br />

register for continuous dissertation<br />

status (EDL000 or PSYC000). For the<br />

first semester of continuous<br />

registration, dissertation students<br />

will be charged the equivalent of a<br />

one-credit doctoral course. In<br />

subsequent semesters, students will<br />

be charged the equivalent of a<br />

three-credit course. Continuous<br />

registration will be transcripted with<br />

Pass/Fail grading (0 credit). All<br />

students involved in the dissertation<br />

process must be registered.<br />

APA Workshop<br />

Doctoral Students are invited to<br />

attend an APA Workship on<br />

Thursday, September 12 from 6:30 –<br />

8:00 pm in Room 127 Loyola Hall.<br />

While the workshop will include<br />

general APA guidelines, the focus<br />

will be on incorporating APA into<br />

Doctoral papers (e.f., Proposals,<br />

Dissertations). If attending PSVP to<br />

Counseling Psychology<br />

Orientation<br />

All new counseling psychology<br />

students are encouraged to attend<br />

Business Office Notice<br />

Enrollment Plan Fee<br />

Effective Fall 2013 students will be<br />

charged a non-refundable $25 fee to<br />

enroll in the installment plan each<br />

term. Enrolling in the plan allows<br />

students studying both on main<br />

campus and at off-site locations to<br />

divide the semester tuition over<br />

three payments each semester.<br />

Beginning in August, the monthly<br />

late fee will increase from $25 to<br />

$30.
