Division of Education Certifications
Effective September 1, 2013, PA
Instructional Certifications offered in
Immaculata University’s College of
Graduate Studies include the grade
bands of: PreK-4, Special Education
PreK-8, Secondary Education content
area 7-12 and Specialists K-12 (BCIT,
FCS, French, Spanish, Music). New
certification requirements are
outlined in the 2012 – 2104 Graduate
catalog.
New Requirements for Principal
and Letter of Eligibility:
EDL 643 Special Education for School
Leaders is now required as part of
the certification programs for
Principal and the Letter of
Eligibility. Students enrolling in the
above certifications or degree
programs leading to certifications
under the requirements of the 2012-
2014 catalog must take EDL
643. Students who enrolled under
earlier catalogs who have not
completed these certifications by
January 1, 2014 must take EDL 643.
Please plan your schedules
accordingly and consult with your
advisor if you have any further
questions.
Doctoral Students
EdD and PsyD Doctoral Students who
have completed all of their
coursework towards dissertation but
need additional time to complete
the dissertation will be required to
register for continuous dissertation
status (EDL000 or PSYC000). For the
first semester of continuous
registration, dissertation students
will be charged the equivalent of a
one-credit doctoral course. In
subsequent semesters, students will
be charged the equivalent of a
three-credit course. Continuous
registration will be transcripted with
Pass/Fail grading (0 credit). All
students involved in the dissertation
process must be registered.
APA Workshop
Doctoral Students are invited to
attend an APA Workship on
Thursday, September 12 from 6:30 –
8:00 pm in Room 127 Loyola Hall.
While the workshop will include
general APA guidelines, the focus
will be on incorporating APA into
Doctoral papers (e.f., Proposals,
Dissertations). If attending PSVP to
Sr. Carol Anne Couchara,
Dissertation Support Manager at
ccouchara@immaculata.edu.
Counseling Psychology
Orientation
All new counseling psychology
students are encouraged to attend
the Counseling Psychology
Orientation on Thursday, September
12 th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm in the
Green Room in Villa Maria Hall. RSVP
by 9/9 to Collette Delaney at
cdelaney@immaculata.edu. Put
orientation in the subject line.
Practicum Tips Nights
Practicum tips for mental health
practicums will be held on Monday,
September 9th from 5:15 – 7:10 pm
in the Green Room in Loyola Hall.

MA Counseling Advisement
All master’s in counseling students
will be reassigned to either Sr.
Jeannine O’Kane, Dr. Stinchfield, or
Dr. Martinson in October, 2013. Also
beginning this semester students can
walk in for open advisment at the
following days and times in the
graduate psychology office in
Nazareth Hall:

of education and psychology. To get

Business Office Notice
Enrollment Plan Fee
Effective Fall 2013 students will be
charged a non-refundable $25 fee to
enroll in the installment plan each
term. Enrolling in the plan allows
students studying both on main
campus and at off-site locations to
divide the semester tuition over
three payments each semester.
Beginning in August, the monthly
late fee will increase from $25 to
$30.
