MATERIALS PROVIDED<br />
Each participant will be provided with all the necessary resources or handouts.<br />
WHAT TO BRING<br />
Please dress for physical activity and bring your lunch and a drink bottle. A pen and notepad are also<br />
recommended. A whistle is also required for the practical session.<br />
REFEREE ACCREDITATION<br />
On completion of the <strong>course</strong> associated examination, you will achieve a <strong>referee</strong> grading of “District Referee<br />
(Level 1 NOAS) with certificate and a badge.<br />
REFEREE REGISTRATION<br />
On successful completion <strong>referee</strong>s will receive four years registration under the National Officiating<br />
Accreditation Scheme which is only attained after successful completion of the practical component that is<br />
explained below.<br />
REFEREE CATEGORIES<br />
DISTRICT REFEREE – This level is awarded following attendance at a National Officiating Accreditation<br />
Scheme (NOAS) Level 1 Officiating Course and upon passing theory examination.<br />
REGIONAL REFEREE - This level is awarded to District Referees following the successful completion of the<br />
NOAS Level 1 Refereeing Course practical component. This requires the <strong>referee</strong> to complete five (5) games<br />
as a first <strong>referee</strong>, five (5) games as a second <strong>referee</strong>, five (5) games as a scorer, and three (3) games as a<br />
line judge. Three (3) of the games as a first <strong>referee</strong> and two (2) of the games as a second <strong>referee</strong> must be<br />
assessed by an Australian <strong>Volleyball</strong> Referees Commission (AVRC) recognized assessor, who will complete<br />
the AVRC-1 <strong>form</strong> and determine if the <strong>referee</strong> is competent in each per<strong>form</strong>ance. The five (5) completed<br />
AVRC-1 <strong>form</strong>s, along with three (3) completed score sheets from the games as a scorer, must be forwarded<br />
to the <strong>Volleyball</strong> <strong>Victoria</strong> Referees Commission (VVRC). Based on the in<strong>form</strong>ation submitted, the VVRC will<br />
determine if the <strong>referee</strong> should be awarded the grading of Regional Referee.
