COURSE INFORMATION

GENERAL COST
$82.00 per person inclusive of GST
TIME
The course commences at 9.00am and concludes by 3.00pm. You must register by 8.45am. Breaks will be
scheduled for Morning Tea and Lunch. Participants must bring their own packed lunch or purchase lunch on
the day.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Please complete & submit the nomination form to education@volleyballvictoria.com.au or Fax Volleyball
Victoria on (03) 9794 6006. Payments should be made at least 7 days prior to the scheduled course via
cheque, money order or credit card. The closing date for nomination forms is 9 days prior to the specified
course date.
COURSE LIMITATIONS
A minimum of 10 participants must be registered for a course to proceed. Courses will be capped at 25
participants. In the event of excess registrations, applications will be admitted on a ‘first registered, first
served’ basis. VVI reserves the right to cancel a course.
CONFIRMATION
Course will be confirmed by email in the week preceding the course.

MATERIALS PROVIDED
Each participant will be provided with all the necessary resources or handouts.
WHAT TO BRING
Please dress for physical activity and bring your lunch and a drink bottle. A pen and notepad are also
recommended. A whistle is also required for the practical session.
REFEREE ACCREDITATION
On completion of the course associated examination, you will achieve a referee grading of “District Referee
(Level 1 NOAS) with certificate and a badge.
REFEREE REGISTRATION
On successful completion referees will receive four years registration under the National Officiating
Accreditation Scheme which is only attained after successful completion of the practical component that is
explained below.
REFEREE CATEGORIES
DISTRICT REFEREE – This level is awarded following attendance at a National Officiating Accreditation
Scheme (NOAS) Level 1 Officiating Course and upon passing theory examination.
REGIONAL REFEREE - This level is awarded to District Referees following the successful completion of the
NOAS Level 1 Refereeing Course practical component. This requires the referee to complete five (5) games
as a first referee, five (5) games as a second referee, five (5) games as a scorer, and three (3) games as a
line judge. Three (3) of the games as a first referee and two (2) of the games as a second referee must be
assessed by an Australian Volleyball Referees Commission (AVRC) recognized assessor, who will complete
the AVRC-1 form and determine if the referee is competent in each performance. The five (5) completed
AVRC-1 forms, along with three (3) completed score sheets from the games as a scorer, must be forwarded
to the Volleyball Victoria Referees Commission (VVRC). Based on the information submitted, the VVRC will
determine if the referee should be awarded the grading of Regional Referee.
