FollowersandLoyalty First of all we need to be aware of it how hard it is to gain the first followers. Thus, we used approach in spamming our friends on Facebook and Twitter in order to gain the first followers. In hoping our friends spread the word so that we gain even more followers. This approached worked well for us, as we were able to gain the first couple of hundred followers with this strategy. For us it was really important to have first valuable content on our blog before looking for readers. We wanted to have many followers but also to keep them and turn them into loyal followers. We were convinced this could only be achieved if we convince the readers with our content. In the first weeks we really spammed all people we know in order to tell them please come and check out or blog. This was really hard work as we were constantly advertising our blog on different Social Media channels. Once we had our first loyal followers we tried to understand what they are looking for in order to keep them loyal. And on the other side we tried to gain new readers this is quite tricky, as we need to be very careful with the content. It is important to keep on posting content, which are appreciated by our followers but also trying to implement new and different contend in order to gain more followers. We always encouraged our loyal followers to invite their friends to our blog, this worked well and we gained more and more loyal followers. However, once you reach a certain number of followers it gets harder and harder to move forward to the next step away from your friends to people how have an interest in your content. We could use our experience from the loyal follower to gain new followers. For this we worked with different statistics provided by our blog in order to understand from which country our followers coming from. From this knowledge we could form out content more target towards these people from this certain country. We also looked at the statistics, which tells us which post is the most popular on in order to understand which content is popular by our readers. These statistics helped us a lot in order to understand how we could can more followers. We also started to post our link to similar
logs so that people with an interest in Social Media also have a look at our blog. We also saw from which platforms the most people are coming and so we got an understanding where it is most valuable for us to make advertisement for our blog. We realised we should try to get as many people us possible to our blog as we are never able to convert all into loyal followers. However, the more visitors we have the higher the chance to turn them to loyal followers. Thus, we kept on advertising for our blog. For a blog it is very important to have loyal follower as blogging has much more content than other Social Media platforms meaning people spend more time on a blog reading articles than on any other Social Media channel.
