Week 2:
In this week we received
our assignment and
decided to create a blog to
communicate the insights
regarding social media and
business we received to
the outside world. We were
mainly focused on getting
to know the platform and
all the features we could
implement to make it as
attractive as we can. We
also started writing our
first posts which were
mainly revolving around
who we are and what our
interests in social media
were. Additionally, it is
important to note, that our
posts were all rather long;
however, this changed in
the upcoming weeks. What
surprised us was that even
though we didn?t have a lot
of (subject related) content,
we had roughly 100 views.
This showed us that the
fact that blogger had this
function where people can
just click ?next blog?
probably lead quite a
number of viewers to our
page.
Week 3:
We were pretty astonished
in this week that we reached
a couple of hundred views.
We started marketing our
blog on other platforms
hoping to get more views
and apparently it worked,
which made all of us very
ecstatic about the
assignment. Here we
thought again about who our
target audience was, so that
we can offer content which
interests them. Our main
three were academics,
people with interest in the
subject and students at our
business school (Business
School Lausanne in
Switzerland). So we wrote
posts about how businesses
use social media, changing
marketing, true value,
important of frequency and
an info post for our viewers
to inform them that we will
be changing the design one
in a while till we find a
suitable one. We also added
some smaller widgets to the
blog to make it more fun and
interactive by adding a
flag-counter, a search
function and a survey.
