AIMS
The course aims to provide initial teacher education, sufficient for “qualified teacher” registration by
the Education Department, for permitted teachers employed in secondary schools.
STRUCTURE
The course normally commences in September of each academic year. Course participants are
required to attend two 3-hour sessions each week. There are two main areas of studies:
1. Core Subjects
This is a compulsory programme of studies. It consists of studies in Education, Core
Methodology (Teaching Techniques and Educational Technology), Language Skills (Chinese and
English) and Complementary Programmes.
2. Elective Subjects
Applicants are required to choose two electives from the following:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be:
1. holders of a Diploma awarded by the former Hong Kong Baptist College (from 1970), Hong Kong
Shue Yan College (from 1976) or the former Lingnan College (from 1979); OR
2. final-year students* at the Hong Kong Shue Yan College; OR
3. holders of a Higher Diploma awarded by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University or the City
University of Hong Kong, or equivalent.
* Admission of current final-year students will be subject to their successfully passing the examination in summer 2001.
Remarks: Since the ICTT courses are designed particularly for non-degree holders, applicants with a recognized degree will not be considered for
admissions to this course.
TEACHING REQUIREMENTS
At the time of application
At the time of application, applicants need not be serving teachers. However, priority will be given to
applicants with teaching experience at relevant level.
Throughout the course
An applicant who is offered a place should fulfil the teaching requirements stipulated below:
1. Course participants should be employed as a full-time secondary teachers in a government, aided or
private day school teaching a minimum of 22 periods per week, or 26 periods per 6-day cycle,
consisting of at least 6 periods per week, or 7 periods per 6-day cycle for each of their elective
subjects. Additionally,
•an applicant electing a cultural subject is required to be teaching at least 10 periods of that subject
per week or 12 periods of that subject per 6-day cycle.
•an applicant electing both Chinese I and Chinese II is required to be teaching at least 12 periods
of Chinese per week or 14 periods of Chinese per 6-day cycle.
•an applicant electing both English I and English II is required to be teaching at least 10 periods of
English per week or 12 periods of English per 6-day cycle.
2. Course participants who are resource class teachers should be teaching a minimum of 22 periods
per week of which at least 14 periods are normal class teaching. Out of these 14 periods, 6
periods per week or 7 per 6 day-cycle should be for the elective subject.
3. Course participants teaching in special schools / classes, if admitted, will be required to undertake
in each academic year a period of four weeks of teaching practice in an ordinary school arranged by
the Institute.

本 課 程 旨 在 為 在 職 ㆗ 學 的 准 用 教 師 提 供 基 本 師 資 訓 練 , 使 其 在 修 畢 本 課 程 後 , 可 經 教 育 署 註
冊 為 「 合 格 教 師 」。
課 程 結 構
本 課 程 ㆒ 般 在 每 學 年 之 九 月 開 課 。 學 員 每 週 ㆖ 課 兩 晚 , 每 晚 ㆔ 小 時 。 課 程 包 括 兩 個 主 要 學 習
範 圍 :
1. 核 心 科 目
此 為 必 修 範 疇 , 包 括 教 育 、 核 心 教 學 法 ( 教 學 技 巧 及 教 育 科 技 )、 語 文 技 巧 (㆗ 文 及 英 文 ) 及 輔
修 科 目 。
2. 選 修 科 目

九 七 九 年 或 以 後 ) 文 憑 持 有 ㆟; 或
2. 香 港 樹 仁 學 院 之 應 屆 畢 業 生 *; 或
3. 香 港 理 工 大 學 或 香 港 城 市 大 學 高 級 文 憑 持 有 ㆟ 或 同 等 學 歷 。
* 所 有 應 屆 畢 業 生 須 在 ㆓ 零 零 ㆒ 年 夏 季 考 取 畢 業 文 憑 , 方 可 獲 得 正 式 錄 取 。
註 : 由 於 此 課 程 乃 專 為 非 學 位 持 有 ㆟ 而 設 計 , 因 此 持 有 認 可 學 位 之 申 請 ㆟, 將 不 獲 錄 取 入 讀 此 課 程 。

教 學 條 件
申 請 入 學 期 間
在 申 請 入 學 期 間 , 申 請 ㆟ 無 需 為 在 職 教 師 , 惟 具 有 相 關 級 別 教 學 經 驗 者 會 獲 優 先 考 慮 。
修 業 期 間
申 請 ㆟ 如 獲 取 錄 , 在 修 業 期 間 須 符 合 ㆘ 列 教 學 條 件 :
1. 必 須 為 任 教 官 立 、 資 助 或 私 立 ㆗ 學 之 全 職 教 師 , 並 在 任 教 學 校 每 星 期 最 少 授 課 ㆓ 十 ㆓ 節 或
每 六 日 循 環 週 最 少 ㆓ 十 六 節 , 其 ㆗ 選 修 科 目 每 星 期 最 少 六 節 或 每 六 日 循 環 週 最 少 七 節 。 除
此 以 外 ,
• 選 讀 術 科 者 , 每 星 期 需 要 教 授 選 修 的 術 科 最 少 十 節 或 每 六 日 循 環 週 最 少 十 ㆓ 節 。
• 同 時 選 讀 ㆗ 文 (㆒) 及 ㆗ 文 (㆓) 者 , 每 星 期 需 要 教 授 ㆗ 文 科 最 少 十 ㆓ 節 或 每 六 日 循 環 週 最 少
十 ㆕ 節 。
• 同 時 選 讀 英 文 (㆒) 及 英 文 (㆓) 者 , 每 星 期 需 要 教 授 英 文 科 最 少 十 節 或 每 六 日 循 環 週 最 少 十
㆓ 節 。
2. 在 啟 導 班 任 教 的 學 員 , 每 星 期 最 少 授 課 ㆓ 十 ㆓ 節 , 包 括 普 通 班 級 最 少 十 ㆕ 節 , 其 ㆗ 每 星 期
最 少 六 節 , 或 每 六 日 循 環 週 最 少 七 節 需 為 學 員 之 選 修 科 目 。
3. 在 特 殊 學 校 或 特 殊 班 任 教 的 學 員 , 每 ㆒ 學 年 須 在 香 港 教 育 學 院 安 排 ㆘, 在 普 通 學 校 作 ㆕ 星
期 之 教 學 實 習 。
