National Research Seminar
One day National Seminar on “Role of Commerce and Management
in the Development of Indian Economy” organized by
SVIMS in collaboration with All India Social Research Association,
Mumbai on 4th January. About 30 research scholars from various
colleges across Mumbai participated in the seminar. Dr. Arvind Dhond,
Executive Editor of Research Cell inaugurated the seminar. He
highlighted the importance of genuine research in the field of
Commerce and Management.
Uthaan
Uthaan is state level intercollegiate annual event conducted by
SVIMS. In its second edition this year it was held over two days
on 27th & 28th of February. More than 500 participants of more
than 30 colleges all over Maharashtra contested in various
competitions to win more than Rs. 1,00,000/- worth of prizes. The
Preliminary rounds were conducted in more than 50 colleges
all over Maharashtra wherein more than 5000 students participated
and the toppers were invited to be part of the Grand Finale. The
whole program was designed, planned and executed successfully
by our MMS students. This gave them first hand experience of
Event Management.
Pace HR Resource Certification
Actual hands on training on payroll package - from how to recruit an
employee followed by induction was taught to the SVIMS students.
Important statutory compliances were addressed and valuable tips were
given on how to perform in an interview. The students were informed
about how to fill up PF and ESIC forms and also how a CTC for an
employee. Topics covered were, Recruitment process, Day to day HR
activities, Compensation and Benefits, Labor Laws, Payroll
processing on excel and on Saral Pay Pack software.
CRISIL Workshop
SVIMS has subscribed CRISIL Research Platform which provides
ratings, research, risk and policy advisory services. The data and
the analysis provided by Crisil help the students as well as the faculty
to understand the industry in a better perspective. A workshop by
CRISIL was organized on 12th October in our Campus.
Industrial Visit
First year MMS students went to Nashik & Saputara for their
Industrial Visit from 28th October to 31st October, 2014. They
visited factories of Mahindra & Mahindra , Ring Aqua Plus,
Macrocables Pvt. Ltd. , and VIP Industries. They had exposure
to various production processes, TQM, HR policies of organizations
and also were made aware of various factory layouts. They stayed
at Manas Resorts on Nashik Highway experiencing the countryside
at its best. They also visited Saputara which is Gujrat’s only
Hill Station and enjoyed the boat ride and picturesque
scenes during the ropeway ride which starts from
v a r i e t y R e s o r t a n d e n d s a t S u n s e t p o i n t .
SVIMS-SPARSH
“SPARSH 2014” in the month of September was an annual event
organized by the students where in the faculty was honored and
the parents were informed about the pedagogy of the institute by
prof. Ganpati kattige . The function was inaugurated by Mr. Iyenger
vice president NKES followed by song invoking god sung by first
year students and a welcome dance by second year students .
The further function consisted of all the students from first year
and second year performing cultural dances ,songs and skit.
BITS Pilani Waves
“Waves” is an annual cultural fest of Birla Institute of Technology &
Science, Pilani-Goa Campus. It is a three-day long festival held in the
late October-early November period each year. Students from our
college visited BITS Pilani Goa and hosted events like management
games & quizzes. The students were the supporting members of the
judging team for the Event named-Enterprise catalyst, an event to
support and promote entrepreneurship among young blood
