Visit the dramatic mountain scenery of Assynt and experience the remote white
sandy beaches of the Western Highlands, walk through Cairngorm National

Day 1 Edinburgh | Loch Ness | Ullapool Depart
Edinburgh for the charming highland village of
Dunkeld on the river Tay and then into the Cairngorm
National Park. In the afternoon spend time at Loch
Insh before a short forest walk to the ruins of Loch an
Eilein Castle. Then travel down to the village of Dores
where you can do some “Nessie spotting”! Then it’s
on to Loch Broom for two nights at Ullapool.
Day 2 Northwest Highlands Today you’ll visit
the far northwest highlands and the mountains of
Assynt with its abundance of wildlife. You will be
immersed in the history of the 15th century ruins
of Ardvreck Castle. The day is full of amazing views
of some of Europe’s oldest landscapes from the
stunning white sand beach at Achmelvich Bay to the
traditional fishing village of Lochinver. With the chance
of seeing wildlife such as whales and red deer as
well, this is sure to be a memorable day. Overnight in
Ullapool. (B)
Day 3 Ullapool | Isle of Skye - Portree Today
you’ll leave Ullapool heading south travelling past the
mountains of the Beinn Eighe on the picturesque
Loch Torridon. Enjoy free time in the tranquil setting of
Applecross before taking one of the highest roads in
Scotland, Bealach nam Bo (meaning the Cattle Pass).
In the afternoon you stop in “tropical” Plockton
where palm trees grow alongside Loch Carron. Then
it’s ‘over the sea to Skye’ and the delightful town of
Portree. (B)
Day 4 Isle of Skye Today there are many
possibilities depending on the weather. Your
driver/guide’s knowledge will come to the fore in
developing the best day out for you. Perhaps visit
the stunning Quiraing mountain pass or alternatively
a visit to Dunvegan Castle, ancient ancestral seat of
the Clan McLeod, may be possible. The evening is
yours to relax and enjoy your last night of Highland
culture. (B)
Day 5 Isle of Skye - Portree | Fort William |
Edinburgh Travel south to the famous stronghold
Eilean Donan Castle, used as the setting in the film
“Highlander”. Then through the mountains of Kintail
past Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, and onto
Fort William. Afternoon visit to Glencoe, scene of the
infamous massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692,
and then a stop in Killin beside the Falls of Dochart,
before returning to Edinburgh. (B)

Take in the charms of Munich, Germany's famous Oktoberfest capital, then
journey through the Danube Valley & the land of the 'Sound of Music' and
discover Austria's most important cultural & historic highlights.
DAY 1 Munich On arrival in Munich you will be
met and transferred to your hotel. Check-in and enjoy
the remainder of the day at leisure.
DAY 2 Munich Enjoy breakfast and then set out
to visit the city's main attractions during a guided tour
which will conclude at the Marienplatz square, famous
for its clock tower. The afternoon is free to explore this
bustling city at your leisure. In the evening you enjoy a
traditional Bavarian dinner. (B.D)
DAY 3 Munich | Passau | Linz This morning
travel to Passau. Located on the border between
Germany and Austria, Passau has a very privileged
location on the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz rivers.
In the afternoon we cross the Austrian border to the
city of Linz, a picturesque town on the banks of the
Danube river. (B)
DAY 4 Linz | Dürnstein | Melk | Vienna After
breakfast we start our journey to Vienna. Enjoy a
short stop at the village of Dürnstein, nestled in the
heart of the magnificent Wachau Valley. The charming
town of Dürnstein offers the unique combination of
a breathtaking scenery and traditional architecture.
It was in the Kuenringer Castle that the English
King Richard Lionheart was held prisoner. We then
continue to Melk for a short visit to the famous Abbey.
Finally we arrive in Vienna, the magnificent capital of
Austria, where we will spend the next 2 nights. (B)
DAY 5 Vienna In the morning enjoy a sightseeing
tour of Vienna's most important sites. Admire the
Opera, Hofburg Palace, Heroes Gate, Parliament, the
Council and other famous attractions. The afternoon
is free to continue exploring Vienna at your leisure.
In the evening we suggest an optional gala dinner
accompanied by live classical music (not included).

DAY 6 Vienna | Lake District | Salzburg Today,
depart Vienna and travel to Austria's scenic Lake
District to ascend Mount Zwölferhorn by cable car
to enjoy wonderful views over the Lake Wolfgang.
Continue to the city of Salzburg, where Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart was born. A sightseeing tour of this
enchanting city will feature examples of breathtaking
Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque artistry. (B)
DAY 7 Salzburg | Berchtesgaden | Chiemsee |
Munich After breakfast we travel along the Königsee
River Valley, through the Bavarian mountains and
past romantic farmhouses to Obersalzberg. Special
buses and an elevator will bring us up to the Eagle´s
Nest. From there we continue to Lake Chiemsee, the
“Bavarian Sea”, for a short stop before continuing to
Munich Airport where we arrive around 6 pm. (B)
