PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Mapecoat Universal is a two component,
solvent free, transparent epoxy.
AREA OF USE
Mapecoat Universal is an epoxy binder
with a range of applications: epoxy mortar
when mixed with quartz sand, epoxy
putty when mixed with Sylotix.
Mapecoat Universal can also be used
as primer, dust binder, epoxy for glass
fibre lamination, stone paving, compact
coating, decorative coating and top
coating. Mapecoat Universal is a wear
resistant epoxy for concrete floors, walls,
ceilings etc. Mapecoat Universal gives
a chemically resistant, hard, smooth
surface that is easy to clean and
exhibits minimal yellowing.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Requirements to substrate
The concrete should be clean and dust
free with an even, sound surface. Usual
methods of surface preparation include
milling, grinding and abrasive blasting.
Surfaces must always be vacuum cleaned
before coating with Mapecoat Universal.
The surface temperature of the substrate
should be at least +10 o C during
application. To ensure that moisture
does not condense on the surface of the
concrete or between the first and second
coats check that the surface temperature
is at least 3 o C above the dew point
temperature before application.
It is very important not to exceed the pot
life. Application times which exceed this
value will result in a matt, low quality
surface and bonding to the substrate
may also be impaired. Air and concrete
temperatures should be above +10 o C
during application and curing.
The recommended interval between
coats is 12 – 16 hours and not more
than 24 hours at 20 o C.
Dust binder and impregnation
Apply 0,3 kg/m 2 Mapecoat Universal
in one coat using a roller. On highly
absorbent areas or if extra treatment is
required a second coat may be applied
within 24 hours at 20 o C.
If non-skid protection is required
broadcast the first coat with fine sand
(e.g. 0,4 – 0,8 mm) before it cures.
Do not dilute!
CLEANING
Clean tools immediately after use with
Tynner or technical alcohol.
NB!
Heating which generates high
concentrations of CO 2 may result in
tacky, discoloured surfaces.
STORAGE
When stored frost free in unopened
original packaging, product properties
remain unaltered for the first 24 months.

Mixing
Comp. A and comp. B should be above
+15 o C before mixing. Mix using a slow
drill with whisk attachment for at least
3 minutes.
Application
Apply to the cleaned substrate using
a brush, roller or trowel/squeegee.
The product has a pot life of
approx. 30 minutes from mixing
(temperature dependent).
