Child physically, intellectual psycho-social and emotional developments, basic to
advanced behavioral management and techniques, and parental approaches.
DTPD 618 Management of Oral Diseases in Children 1(1-0)
Principles and techniques of examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and dental
treatment in the area of caries prevention, restoration, dental pulp therapy, traumatic dental injuries
and oral surgery in pediatric dental patients.
DTPD 619 Principle of Interceptive Orthodontics 1(1-0)
Growth and development of naso-maxillary complex, normal and abnormal
development of primary and mixed dentition, growth modification, concept of preventive and
interceptive orthodontics, orthodontic diagnosis, orthodontic records, orthodontic treatment planning,
removable and simple fixed orthodontic appliances.
DTPD 625 General Medicine in Pediatric Dental Care 1(1-0)
Common medical conditions and disabilities in pediatric dental patients, oral
manifestations related to the diseases, and precautions during the dental treatment.
DTPD 621 Dentistry for Special Child 1(1-0)
Dental management in medically compromised children, children with physical
disabilities, and patients with mental disabilities, behavior disturbances; hospital dentistry;
management of essential medical emergency.
DTPD 622 Pediatric Dentistry Seminar I 1(1-0)
Current literatures related to pediatric dentistry e.g. behavior management, dental
caries, caries prevention, dental materials, restoration and trauma.
DTPD 623 Pediatric Dentistry Seminar II 1(1-0)
Students provide the current best answer to the clinical questions about etiology,
prognosis and treatment in pediatric dentistry using best available evidences in making decision.
The summary will be presented and all attendances will participate in discussion on these evidence
based practices.
