A Decade of Continuing Service wide activities that bring out both the creative and sportsmanship spirit of our employees. Annual sports program are in place such as the Annual Tenpin Affair, and the sports festival every summer, which was dubbed OlympiX, focusing on the fact that we are celebrating our tenth year of service. The 10th anniversary concert was also a commemoration of this special accomplishment. The year was properly capped via a Musical Way of Christmas party which showcased a broadway theme, gamely participated by all employees. All these programs contribute to make our organization a productive and familiar place, one where an individual grows and develops as a well-rounded person. Sustaining Strong Relationships Community Engagement The importance of water to the well-being of a community necessitates that we maintain close ties with our customers. Thus, regular meetings with groups of homeowners have been factored into the work schedules of the East Zone’s Territory Teams. The meetings are especially important before, during and after the implementation of significant projects. Fora sponsored by local governments are also highlighted in the calendars of Territory Teams. Events such as Pasig City’s weekly Lingap sa Barangay and Makati City’s Ugnayan sa Barangay allow territory representatives to hear directly from community members. Regular community consultations are key to addressing customer concerns and maintaining high quality service. In the 2007 survey on the Public Assessment on Water Services (PAWS) conducted by the University of the Philippines National Engineering Center, Manila Water got a 96% Very Good rating for 300 barangays surveyed. Government Relations Coordinating with local governments and other key agencies is a major part of our company’s stakeholder relations management. A Manila Water officer has been assigned to each of the 23 cities and municipalities within the East Zone to coordinate with local officials on water, sanitation and sustainable development programs. Key Accounts Management Manila Water provides premium service to a group of clients that account for over 6% of the total number of water service connections and almost 50% of our company’s revenue. A key accounts management unit addresses the growing demands of these big business customers. The unit is also at the forefront of a drive to convince these clients to use surface water – and not privately-run deepwell pumps which harm the environment – as their primary source of water. Extra services given to key accounts include cistern cleaning, leak detection and other technical support, water quality testing, fire hydrant installation, metering services, desludging and wastewater services and the 24/7 personalized service of designated territory and key account manager. 2006 Public Assessment of Water Service (PAWS) Survey 2007 300 Barangays 4% Very Good Source: MWSS Regulatory Office Good Getting Awarded For Our Efforts We have been privileged to receive various awards not only in business categories, but more importantly, in the area of sustainable development.
