What a great evening we had at Lily Gins on 19th May 

with Fashion and Culture Show in aid of Hollie Gazzard 

Trust, we raised over £600 for Hollie Gazzard Trust www. 

holliegazzard.org. All money raised has been given to Hollie 

Gazzard Trust to help them achieve their aim of Sponsoring 

12 hairdressing students at Gloscol, increasing domestic 

abuse awareness and reducing knife crime.

Tewkesbury Half Marathon 

The 2015 Tewkesbury Half Marathon took place on a sunny Sunday morning. 

Over 750 runners lined up at the entrance to Tewkesbury Park Golf club ready to 

take on the scenic course around the historic town of Tewkesbury. Running on 

behalf of the Trust and adorning Trust vests were Juliette Crosby, Jordan Rouse 

and Matthew Hutchins. 

The event was organised by Race Nation and we were delighted to be asked to 

be the charity partner. We arrived at the finish area, Tewkesbury Rugy club and 

immediately set up our stand just outside the club house. At the same time, some 

of the HGT team went to the first water station to ensure that much deserved 

liquid was on hand for the runners. Just after 9;00am, Nick and Chloe walked over 

to the start line at the entrance to Tewkesbury Park Golf club and undertook live 

interviews with BBC Radio Gloucestershire. The event was well organised and went 

ahead without a glitch with the winner coming in around 1 hour and ten minutes. 

Thank you to all those that helped with the stand, HGT water station and who ran 

in Hollie vests helping raise the profile of the Trust. 

Next up is the Gloucester 10K on July 12 and a number of individuals will be running 

on behalf of the Trust. If you would like to join them and raise funds for the Trust

Home Facemasks 

So sometimes we may not be able to afford that luxury facial at the spa, but we still 

feel that our skin needs some indulgence and looking after. So a home facial is often 

the alternative. You can make so many different facemasks using the most natural, 

and inexpensive, ingredients. I am going to give you recipes for my favourite ones, 

but you can be experimental with it and research what ingredients would help with 

your specific skin types - It is so simple. 

Just make sure your skin is nice and clean in preparation for the facemask, and also 

that you have half an hour or so to chill out while the mask is on…. And your wine is 

in hand, thensit back and ENJOY. 

ALL SKIN TYPES FACEMASK – Makes Skin Glow! 

Main ingredients: Half a banana and 1 egg white 

Banana contains natural sugars which will 

help to provide the skin with a natural fresh 

glow. It helps to brighten and lighten as well as 

reduce lines and wrinkles. The egg white has a 

tightening and firming effect so will make the 

skin much more radiant, youthful and healthy 

looking. 

Mash the banana and egg together. Apply to 

face. Wash after 15 minutes. 

There are many other recipes for facemasks at home. Some delicious ones too! 

DRY SKIN FACEMASK – Replenish and 

Moisturises 

Main Ingredients: ½ Avocado and ¼ cup of 

honey 

The many natural oils in avocados will really 

help to replenish the skin 

(if you don’t fancy using avocado then try 

using natural yoghurt) 

Mix ingredients in a bowl and apply to face 

avoiding eye area. Leave for 10 to 15 

minutes and then rinse off using warm 

water and a flannel if required. 

SPOTTY SKIN FACEMASK – Helps To Clear 

Blemishes 

Main Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of 

cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of honey 

Honey is brilliant for healing and 

repairing the skin so it helps to fade any 

marks or blemishes, and cinnamon is a 

good ingredient to exfoliate and renew so 

will help to get rid of dead skin cells whilst 

renewing and brightening what is there. 

Skin will feel softer and look brighter, 

marks will fade and skin will begin to clear 

with this mask used regularly. 

But if you find that you are able to enjoy a spa treatment and really want to 

indulge then facials in spa can range from between £20 and £60 depending on 

location and products.

this heady excitement, we take you off to sea with a traditional setting of Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘H.M.S. Pinafore’ 

where Captain Corcoran's daughter, Josephine, falls in love with lowly able seaman Ralph, despite her father's 

wishes that she marry the First Sea Lord, Sir Joseph Porter. But surely true love must triumph over rank and 

station?!

The Pearl Izumi Tour Series

The final round of Britain’s leading cycle race Series, bringing Britain’s fastest teams to race on a spectacular circuit in 

the heart of Bath. 

A whole afternoon of cycling events and activities will build up to the evening’s two professional races, with the final 

round of the women’s Matrix Fitness Grand Prix Series getting underway at 1730 and likely to feature riders such as 

Olympic Champions Dani King and Laura Trott, plus Commonwealth Games stars like Katie Archibald and Charline 

Joiner. 

Then at 1930 it’s the final round of the men’s Pearl Izumi Tour Series, with Team WIGGINS, ONE Pro Cycling and JLT 

Condor going head-to-head as nine professional teams race for one-hour around the 1.1-kilometre circuit, starting 

and finishing in Victoria Park. Cheer on Britain’s best and enjoy this free event, with highlights of all the action shown 

on ITV4 on Friday 12 June at 2000.

Premiership fixture of the season, away at West Country rivals Bath. The England 

forward will be free to play again from the first of June. Lets hope that the Cherry 

and Whites have a much better 2015 - 2016 Season. 

Such a sad day for Cheltenham Town Fans as we 

went out of Division 2, not with a bang but more of a 

whimper. The club have released eight players as they 

now plan for life in the National League next season, 

the eight are: Durrell Berry, Craig Braham-Barrett, 

Troy Brown, Danny Haynes, Mathieu Manset, Matt 

Richards, Andy Haworth and Matt Gould will all leave 

when their current deals at Whaddon Road expire. 

A further six have been transfer listed: Trevor Carson, 

Jack Deaman, Omari Sterling-James, Matt Taylor, Lee 

Vaughan and Jamal Lawrence. There is some good news in the form of Gary Johnson 

will be staying on as manager and that Russell Milton will work as assistant manager 

for next season, negotiations are continuing with other members of the backroom 

staff. 

Lets hope that come September that Cheltenham get a great start and look to get 

back into Division 2 at the first attempt, but something tells me it won’t be that easy. 

Gloucester RFC 

Bristol City FC 

Wow what an amazing season from Bristol City 

to finish on 99 points and eight points clear of 

MK Dons, clinch the title and storm into the 

Championship. The 

season finished with a thumping 8 - 2 win over 

Walsall. 

Jordy Hiwula slotted the Saddlers into a 

surprise lead, but Aden Flint's volley and 

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas's penalty turned the 

match around. Hiwula scored again to equalise 

before the rout began in the second half. 

Defender Flint added two more for his hattrick, 

Emmanuel-Thomas and Kieran Agard 

completed braces and Marlon Pack also scored in a remarkable 45 minutes. 

The Cherry and Whites had a shocking season 

finishing ninth in the Aviva Premiership and a 50 - 

30 hammering from their rivals Bath didn't help. 

Gloucester director of rugby David Humphreys: 

"The positives definitely outweighed the negatives. 

We conceded 50 points but at the same time our 

younger players will benefit from the experience 

of playing here at such an intimidating venue. 

"That gives us a lot of hope - not just looking 

ahead to the next few weeks and months, but 

beyond that. "Playing Connacht will be a huge challenge. We're under no illusions as 

to the challenge that lies ahead. It's one we are looking forward to and it gives us a 

chance to get the club back into Europe next season 

In other news Gloucester flanker Matt Kvesic has been suspended for three weeks 

Former Swindon Town centre-half Flint's treble was the highlight for the hosts, 

as he took his personal tally up to 15 for the season and capped an amazing 

afternoon for Steve Cotterill's side. The game, which had little riding on it for either 

team, had been evenly poised before Agard's strike on the counter-attack early 

in the second half sparked a Saddlers capitulation. The Robins, who lifted the 

league trophy in front of a jubilant Ashton Gate crowd after full-time, ended their 

campaign on 99 points, the highest tally ever achieved in the club's history. 

Forward Jay Emmanuel-Thomas will leave Bristol City in the summer, the 

League One champions have announced. The 24-year-old scored 12 goals in 48 

appearances this season, but will not be given a new contract. Goalkeeper Dave 

Richards has also been released, but midfielder Marlon Pack, 24, is to be offered a 

new deal. Meanwhile, 36-year-old captain Wade Elliott has been offered the job of 

under-21 manager after being told his playing contract will not be renewed.The 

former Burnley and Birmingham midfielder signed a one-year deal last June, but 

has not started since the 3-2 defeat at Colchester in February. 

Let’s hope that City get off to a cracking start in The Championship.

Bath RFC 

Bath RFC has done really well to finish in second 

place in the Aviva Premiership Bath scored seven 

tries as they crushed Gloucester to set up a 

home play-off semi-final with Leicester Tigers. A 

depleted Cherry and Whites managed a four-try 

bonus point before they face their own play-off 

against Connacht for a European Champions Cup 

spot. Steve McColl crossed twice for the visitors, 

who led early on. But converted tries from Kyle 

Eastmond, George Ford and Sam Burgess put 

Bath in control at the break and they eased to 

victory in a pulsating second half. 

Gloucester were well beaten by the end of 

a breathless West Country derby, but had a 

team showing 12 changes for a match that was of little importance for the final 

Premiership standings. The tone was set inside three minutes when a neat move 

ended with Ludlow scoring a simple try. But Eastmond skipped through to get Bath 

on the scoreboard, and Ford's opportunist try was followed by a third home score 

by Burgess, who touched down after bursting through a Henry Purdy tackle. George 

Ford scored his first Premiership try of the season against Gloucester McColl did 

go over in the corner for a second away try after a defence-splitting run by Purdy. 

But with Bath on top in the pack and providing continuous good-quality possession, 

they were able to build on a 21-13 half-time lead. Captain Nick Wood's sin-binning 

was proof of Gloucester troubles at the scrum and Bath made the most of having 

an extra man.Ollie Devoto crossed for a fourth touchdown and, although an error 

by Eastmond gifted McColl his second five-point haul, Anthony Watson crossed 

in the corner for the hosts to extend their lead to 36-23. There was still time for 

Bath's Semesa Rokoduguni to go under the posts and Dan Robson to touch down 

for Gloucester. But the home side had the final say, Horacio Agulla crossing the 

whitewash to help take Bath to 50 points. 

Bath head coach Mike Ford: 

"I know we conceded 30 and there was a bit of an end-of-season, nothing-at-stake 

feel to the game. But looking at the 22 matches, it's been a great season."Last year 

we were one point off getting fourth place. This year we're one point off top." 

On facing Leicester in the play-offs: 

"Everyone's fit. That includes Stuart Hooper - we could have played him - and 

Jonathan Joseph. Nobody's got any injuries. "Matt Banahan came off as a precaution 

and the others came off just for a rest really. It's a fantastic position to be in, playing 

Leicester at home with a fully fit squad. We can't wait.
