cmdn education research seminar series
welcome
Welcome to the College of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing education
research seminar programme for 2013. It is our great pleasure to share
with you the 2013 series. In it you will find a range of key topics in
healthcare education research (e.g. theory and practice, assessment and
feedback, technology-enhanced learning etc.) presented by local, national
and international speakers, and a series of qualitative and quantitative
methodological workshops relevant to healthcare education research.
This seminar and workshop programme aims to build capacity for
healthcare education research across the College of Medicine, Dentistry
and Nursing, and give CMDN colleagues the opportunity to meet fellow
education researchers within the College and beyond. In particular, regular
attenders to the CMDN education research seminars include colleagues
from the School of Education, Social Work and Continuing Education
(SESWCE) at the University of Dundee, and from NHS Education for
Scotland (NES).
series aims
In order to build research capacity and
capability across the College of Medicine,
Dentistry and Nursing, we are running a
series of seminars and workshops annually.
We have tried to streamline the series to one
event a month which incorporates a seminar
and a quarterly methodological workshop.
These seminars and workshops are open
to all, although preference will be given to
CMDN staff (and students) in the event that
a maximum number is stipulated.
We are now into our fourth year of this seminar and workshop programme
and would like to thank all of the people who have attended our seminars
and workshops over the last three years and in particular those regular
attenders who have made the series such a great success in 2012. We
would also like to thank both the Medical Education Institute and ACT for
their generous financial support of this 2013 programme. Without this
funding these seminars and workshops would not be possible.
You will notice that two of the seminars are co-hosted by the Universitywide
Centre for Research and Innovation in Teaching and Learning
(CRITAL). We welcome all healthcare educators (University and NHSbased),
colleagues from CRITAL, SESWCE and NES. Please do get these
dates in your diary and join us next year. If you have any questions about
the programme or suggestions for future seminars, please email Dr Rola
Ajjawi (r.ajjawi@dundee.ac.uk).
healthcare students etc.) and other
producers of educational research (e.g.
educational and social sciences researchers).
Through these monthly seminars, we
