BEATING THE BOUNDS : lOth ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION EVENT<br />

Saturday tsffr December.<br />

To cater -for the enormous enthusiasm that this event has<br />
aroused, the new date above has been arranged. However, it has<br />
been suggested that the intention of providing a situation in<br />
which many club members could meet and renew old acquaintances<br />
and make new ones was inadequately served by the original plan.<br />
So, the following modification has been decided. Each of the<br />
eight teams, 2 from each corner and 2 (but a different 2) on<br />
each leg shall themselves be divided into a "complete-leg' half<br />
and a 'half—leg-and-back' half. Thus, when the two teams<br />
running along any particular leg in opposite directions towards<br />
each other, meet, one half of one team continues on with the<br />
half of the other team which has turned round and the other half<br />
turns round and returns in the company of the other team which<br />
continues along the whole of the leg.<br />
This change necessitates the following addition to the<br />
rules governing the event. Each team must contain at least two<br />
members and each half must carry an item of equipment.<br />
Professional and certified members are asked to note that<br />
AAA ratification of the event's rules has been posponed until<br />
their new computer is installed.<br />
