Nuremberg – How to get there, where to stay
Preparing a visit to the ECS
Nuremberg is highly accessible by air, rail and road. And commuting
to and from the exhibition and congress centre is just as
convenient. For both first-time and repeat visitors to the European
Coatings Show, these useful tips will help you arrange your visit to
the coatings industry’s premium event.
Nuremberg boasts good
traffic connections. It’s
easy to get to and it’s easy
to get around. The exhibition
and congress centre
is located to the south of
Nuremberg, just 7 km from
the city centre and 5 km from
the airport. With a population
of 500 000, the city has

numerous hotels, hostelries,
B&Bs and private rooms to
suit every price category,
most of which are close to
the city centre.

Getting a flight to Nuremberg
from within Europe is straightforward,
as the city’s airport
can be reached direct from
many European cities. Intercontinental
travellers can
take connecting flights from
neighbouring international
airports, such as Frankfurt,
Munich, Zurich, Amsterdam
and Paris. The journey from
the airport to the exhibition
and congress centre takes
only about 25 minutes. Travellers
taking the underground
will have to change lines at
the main station. A taxi from
the airport to the exhibition
grounds takes about 20 minutes.
Nuremberg train station is
a junction on the European
high-speed rail network.
Most national and international
high-speed (EC, IC and
ICE) operators provide hourly
services, thereby ensuring
optimum accessibility. Two
underground lines connect
the main station and the exhibition
and congress centre:
the U1 in the direction of
“Langwasser” and the U11 in
the direction of “Messe” (exhibition
centre). Underground
trains operate every seven
minutes at peak periods and
the journey lasts eight minutes.
