Learns Moves from
Hip-Hop Artist Jude Cassion
In November, the Ridge Dance Team
began rehearsing with hip-hop artist Jude
Cassion, a dancer, choreographer, and
teacher from New York City. His choreography
focuses on musicality and performance,
while capturing the emotion,
rhythm, and lyrics of the music. Jude
created a dance for the Ridge Dance
Team that will be adjudicated in upcoming
dance competitions and performed in
the Spring Dance Showcase 2011. The
students enjoyed learning his eclectic
and theatrical style and look forward to
presenting their dance to the Ridge
community.

Ridge Dance Master Classes
Go to Bollywood!
In October, about 40 students from Ridge
High School and William Annin Middle
School took two Bollywood master classes
with teacher Meena Basu-Nag. Meena is
a teacher of classical Indian dance and
the founder of Nritya Creations, a dance
studio with several locations throughout
New Jersey. Students learned the importance
and significance of hand movements
and facial expressions, as well as the
history and tradition of Indian dance. The
choreography learned during these two
classes will be presented during the
Winter Dance Showcase 2011. Be sure to
save the date for this evening of eclectic
and cultural dance!
Hip-hop artist Jude Cassion choreographed a dance
to be performed by the Ridge Dance Team at the
Winter Dance Showcase in January.
