Course description<br />
Whilst working through the award your staff will be able to demonstrate the skills they already possess <strong>and</strong><br />
develop new skills.<br />
The programme develops good awareness of:<br />
- How to identify the needs of clients/residents <strong>and</strong> how to support these needs.<br />
- Confidentiality <strong>and</strong> record keeping, both of which are important in the care setting.<br />
- Good communication skills needed to support clients/residents <strong>and</strong> staff.<br />
- Staff will also be able to identify risks to themselves <strong>and</strong> the clients/residents.<br />

<strong>Level</strong> 2 <strong>Diploma</strong> in <strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Care</strong><br />
Entry requirements<br />
This course is appropriate for members of staff who provide daily support <strong>and</strong> care to adults <strong>and</strong> older people.<br />
This support could be given within a care setting, day care, or in their own home.<br />
There will be an initial meeting to discuss suitability of the qualification prior to enrolment. The staff member<br />
must be in a suitable job role to meet the requirements of this award.<br />
Assessment details<br />
The course is delivered at the workplace by a qualified assessor. The assessor will visit the staff regularly to<br />
set work <strong>and</strong> help the c<strong>and</strong>idate to complete the units needed for the award. Times for the visits will be<br />
arranged to suit the staff <strong>and</strong> assessor. Learning materials are provided for the staff to help with their course.<br />
The staff member proves they have achieved the award by gathering evidence with guidance from the<br />
assessor.<br />

This course can start anytime during the year at a time to suit yourself <strong>and</strong> your employer.<br />

We offer a range of level 1, 2 <strong>and</strong> 3 courses, as well as degree courses <strong>and</strong> apprenticeships. After successful<br />
completion of this course, progression is possible onto courses such as:<br />
Advanced <strong>Level</strong> Apprenticeship in <strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Care</strong> - <strong>Level</strong> 3
<strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Care</strong> <strong>Level</strong> 3 <strong>Diploma</strong><br />
Fee details:<br />
Age 19-23<br />
The government's Workplace Learning (WPL) will fully fund the cost of this level 2 qualification for any<br />
employee aged between 19 <strong>and</strong> 23 years old who has not yet gained their first level 2 qualification. If you are<br />
aged 19-23 with an existing level 2 qualification you may be eligible for co-funding to cover part of the fees. In<br />
this instance, eligibility will depend entirely upon the size of the organisation you work for. Please contact us<br />
<strong>and</strong> we will be able to check eligibility <strong>and</strong> confirm any fees.<br />
Age 24+<br />
If you are aged 24+ years the government's Workplace Learning (WPL) may be available to co-fund part of the<br />
