1. Où le trouver et comment le reconnaître
dans la rue ?
l En vous rendant sur une aire de stationnements taxis.
l En hélant le taxi dans la rue, si vous vous situez à plus de 100
mètres d’une aire de stationnements taxis.
l En téléphonant à l’un des centraux téléphoniques bruxellois suivants :

Très facile à repérer dans le trafic de la capitale, le taxi bruxellois, de couleur
noire, arbore, sur ses 4 portières, une bande en damier noir et jaune mangue
avec, de chaque côté de la voiture, 2 Iris jaunes, emblèmes de la Région de
Bruxelles-Capitale qui présente dans sa continuité, sur l’aile arrière de la voiture,
la reproduction du numéro d’identification à 4 chiffres du taxi.
Sur son toit, le taxi bruxellois est muni d’un voyant lumineux à l’apparence d’un
cube de couleur noire qui à sa base, présente une bande lumineuse en damier.
Vous y verrez aussi indiqué le mot TAXI illuminé ainsi que les tarifs I et II qui
s’allument en fonction de l’occupation ou non du taxi.
Attention ! Vous rencontrerez peut-être encore un taxi de couleur blanche et/ou
un taxi bruxellois avec l’ancien voyant lumineux (blanc ou jaune et bleu). Ceux-ci
sont amenés à disparaître prochainement !

De Brusselse taxi is zeer gemakkelijk te herkennen in het verkeer in de
hoofdstad. Het is een zwarte wagen met op de 4 deuren een geel-zwarte
band in dambordmotief en met op elke kant van de wagen 2 gele irissen, het
embleem van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest. Op de achtervleugels van
de wagen, in het verlengde van deze band vindt men het uit 4 cijfers bestaande
identificatienummer van de taxi terug.
Op zijn dak draagt de Brusselse taxi een zwart, kubusvormig verklikkerlicht met
onderaan een lichtgevend dambord. Het woord taxi, tarief I en/of tarief II lichten
op afhankelijk van of de taxi al dan niet in gebruik is.
Opgelet! U zal misschien nog witte Brusselse taxi’s en/of Brusselse taxi’s met
een oud verklikkerlicht (wit of geel- blauw) tegenkomen. Deze verklikkerlichten
zullen binnenkort verdwijnen.

Very easy to spot among traffic in the capital, the black Brussels taxi boasts a
chequered band of black and mango yellow along its side over its four doors.
On each side of the vehicle there are two yellow irises, emblem of the Brussels-
Capital Region, and on the rear fender of the car, where the chequered band
continues, the taxi’s 4-digit identification number is displayed.
On its roof, the Brussels taxi is equipped with an indicator light resembling a
black cube, with an illuminated chequered band along its base. You will also
see the word TAXI illuminated, as well as the rates I and II, lit up depending on
whether the taxi is available or has a fare.
Please note: You may still find a white taxi and/or a Brussels taxi with the old
indicator light (white or yellow and blue). These taxis will soon be obsolete!

Si vous commandez un taxi, n’oubliez jamais de préciser que vous
souhaitez que le taximètre soit enclenché pour calculer le prix de la
course. Vérifiez-le toujours en début de course même en cas de prix
forfaitaire pratiqué par le central téléphonique.
Si vous payez un forfait pratiqué par le central téléphonique, le
prix de la course ne peut jamais être supérieur au prix qui est
indiqué au taximètre.

If you pay an inclusive rate used by the taxis dispatching
center, the price of the journey can never be higher than the
price indicated on the taximeter.

Brussels taxis are equipped with a taximeter connected to a printer. At
the end of the journey, the driver must print a receipt and hand it to
you when you leave the taxi.
This receipt contains all the informations concerning your taxi journey,
as well as the taxi’s identification number and a toll-free telephone
number 0800/14.795 that you can use in case of any problem.
So remember to ask for your receipt!
The taximeter must always be visible to a customer traveling in a
Brussels taxi.
Alle Brusselse taxi’s zijn uitgerust met een taximeter met een printer. De
chauffeurs zijn verplicht het afgedrukte ontvangstbewijs aan de klant te
geven aan het einde van de rit.
Dit ontvangstbewijs vermeldt alle gegevens van uw taxirit en het uit 4
cijfers bestaande identificatienummer van de taxi en het gratis nummer
0800/14.795, dat moet worden gevormd in geval van problemen.
Vergeet dus niet uw ontvangstbewijs te vragen!

Comment identifier le taxi emprunté ou son chauffeur ?

plaquette accrochée au pare-chocs avant de la voiture et reproduit
à l’extérieur, sur l’aile arrière du taxi de chaque côté de la voiture
et à l’intérieur, sur le tableau de bord ainsi que sur le reçu imprimé

Hoe de taxi of de chauffeur herkennen?
•• Via het uit 4 cijfers bestaande identificatienummer. Dit
identificatienummer vindt u op het identificatieplaatje op de
voorbumper van het voertuig, achteraan op de zijflanken van het
voertuig, binnen in de taxi op het dashboard en op het afgedrukte
ontvangstbewijs dat u ontvangt aan het einde van de rit.

achteraan op de hoofdsteun van de bestuurderszetel vindt.

How do you identify the taxi taken or its driver?

4. Un taxi qui est très réglementé et
contrôlé à Bruxelles, une carte de visite
importante pour nos visiteurs !
Le saviez-vous ?
Le taximan doit notamment :
•• Accepter toutes les courses même celles de courte durée et/ou de
courte distance.
•• Enclencher son taximètre en début de course ou à l’heure précise
du rendez-vous pour une course commandée lorsque le taximan
doit attendre son client.
•• Afficher sa carte d’identification au dos de l’appuie-tête du siège.
Vous y trouverez un numéro et la photo identifiant le chauffeur.
•• Afficher l’affichette des tarifs en vigueur au dos de l’appuie-tête du
siège.
•• Délivrer systématiquement au client un reçu imprimé en fin de
course.
•• Accepter de transporter les clients accompagnés de chiens
d’aveugles ou d’assistance ou des petits chiens pouvant être tenus
sur les genoux.
•• Demander à son client s’il peut écouter de la musique pendant la
course taxi.
•• Aider les personnes âgées et à mobilité réduite à embarquer et à
débarquer du taxi.
•• Aider les clients à charger et décharger leurs bagages.
•• Rester à la disposition du client chargé jusqu’à ce qu’il le souhaite
(le taximètre reste toutefois enclenché).
•• Porter une tenue vestimentaire correcte.

4. De Brusselse taxi’s streng gereglementeerd
en gecontroleerd een belangrijk
visitekaartje voor onze bezoekers!
Wist u dat?
De taxichauffeur moet:
•• Alle ritten aanvaarden, zelfs die van korte duur en/of korte afstand.
•• Zijn taximeter aanzetten aan het begin van de rit of op het exacte
tijdstip van de afspraak voor een rit die wordt besteld wanneer hij
op zijn klant moet wachten.
•• Aan de achterkant van de hoofdsteun van zijn stoel zijn
identificatiekaart, met daarop zijn identificatienummer en zijn foto,
aanbrengen.
•• De lijst met de geldende tarieven aan de achterkant van de
hoofdsteun van zijn zetel aanbrengen.
•• Aan het einde van de rit de klant automatisch een afgedrukt
ontvangstbewijs bezorgen.
•• Klanten met blindengeleidehonden of assistentiehonden of kleine
honden, die op de schoot kunnen worden gehouden, aanvaarden.
••
Zijn klant vragen of hij muziek mag beluisteren tijdens de rit.
•• Bejaarden of mensen met beperkte mobiliteit helpen bij het in- en
uitstappen
•• De klanten helpen hun bagages aan te nemen en nadien terug te geven.
•• Ter beschikking blijven van een klant zolang deze laatste dat wil
(de taximeter blijft toch lopen).

Did you know?
A taxi driver must:

Accept all taxi journeys, even if these are for a short journey or for a
short distance.

Activate his taximeter at the start of the journey or at the exact time
of the appointment for a booked fare when the driver has to wait for
his customer.
•• Display his identification card on the back of the headrest of the
driver’s seat. You will find the driver’s number and identification
photo there.
•• Display the current rates list on the back of the headrest of the seat.
•• Automatically issue the customer with a printed receipt at the end

•• Agree to transport customers accompanied by guide dogs for the
