6. 7 Procedures Logs & Patient Encounters<br />
Procedure logs include<br />
1. MDI plus aero chamber inhalation<br />
2. Measure newborns head circumference (HC), length (Lt), weight (Wt) and plot on<br />
appropriate charts<br />
3. Measure other age groups HC, Height and Wt and plot on appropriate<br />
charts.<br />
4. Newborn complete exam<br />
5. Pediatric blood collection<br />
6. Pediatric injections administer SC, IM, IV push agents, intradermal PPD<br />
7. Pediatric intravenous insertion<br />
8. Pediatric position oximeter attachment.<br />
9. Pediatric vital signs – BP/P/RR/Temp (all ages)<br />
10. Pediatric vital signs – newborn<br />
11. Otoscope exam<br />
Patient encounters include<br />
1. Abdominal pain<br />
2. Anticipatory guidance for all ages<br />
(newborn/infant/toddler/adolescent)<br />
3. APNEA /ALTE<br />
4. Behaviour disorder<br />
5. Child Abuse<br />
6. Dehydration<br />
7. Developmental delay<br />
8. Eczema<br />
9. Failure to thrive<br />
10. Febrile seizure<br />
11. Fever<br />
12. Headache<br />
13. Hypotonic infant<br />
14. Ingestion (acute)<br />
15. Jaundice – neonatal<br />
16. Lethargic infant<br />
17. Obesity<br />
18. Otitis / pharyngitis<br />
19. Respiratory distress<br />
20. Urinary tract infection<br />
21. Vomiting<br />
(Patient encounter can be either a real patient or a simulated patient i.e. CLIPP case).
