NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by rule 11 (2) (n) of the Rules and Regulations of the Karaikal Krishi
Vigyan Kendra Society, read with the ICAR revised Guidelines, 1st April 1997, January 1999, letter in
F.No. 4-106/ZC/TOT/2003/1196-1262, dated 1st August 2003, Letter F.No.1-3(4)/ZC/TOT/2004, dated 29th September 2004
and 25th June 2005 and Letter in F.No.1-3(4)/ZC/TOT/2005-06, dated 3rd June 2006 of ICAR Transfer of Technology
Projects, Zone – VIII, Bangalore, save as respects, things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the
Governing Body of the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of
recruitment to the post of Subject Matter Specialist (Extension) in the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, namely :—
1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society
Subject Matter Specialist (Extension) Recruitment Rules, 2006.
(2) They shall come into force on and from the date of their publication in the official gazette.
2. Number of post, its classification and scale of pay.—The number of the said post, its classification and the
scale of pay attached thereto, shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed hereto.
3. Method of recruitment, age limit and other qualifications.—The method of recruitment to the said post,
age limit, qualifications and other matters relating thereto, shall be as specified in columns (5) to (14) of the said Schedule.
4. Disqualification.—No person,—
(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living ; or
(b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,
shall be eligible for appointment to the said post :
Provided that the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, may if satisfied that such marriage is permissible
under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and there are other grounds for
so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
5. Power to relax.—Where the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, is of the opinion, that it is necessary or
expedient so to do, he may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these
rules with respect to any class or category of person.
6. Saving.—Nothing in these rules shall affect the reservations, relaxation in upper age limit and other concessions
required to be provided for the scheduled castes, the scheduled tribes and other special categories of persons in
accordance with the orders issued by the Government from time to time in this regard.

RECRUITMENT RULES FOR THE POST OF SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALIST (EXTENSION)
1. Name of the post : Subject Matter Specialist (Extension).
2. Number of post : 1 (One) [1997] Subject to variation dependent on work-load.
3. Classification : Group 'A' (Tech.).
4. Scale of pay : Rs. 8,000-275-13,500.
5. Whether selection post or non-selection post : Not applicable.
6. Whether benefit of added years of service : Nil.
admissible under rule 30 of the Central Civil
Services (Pension) Rules, 1972.
7. Age limit for direct recruits : Not exceeding 35 years (Relaxable for Government
servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions
or orders issued by the Central Government).
Note : The crucial date for determining the age limit shall
be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates
in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in
Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur,
Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and
Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti Districts and Pangi Subdivision
of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar
Islands and Lakshadweep). In respect of posts, appointments
to which are made through the Employment Exchanges,
the crucial date for determining the age limits shall, in each
case, is the last date up to which the Employment Exchanges
are asked to submit the names.
8. Educational and other qualifications required for :
direct recruits.
Essential qualification :
Master's Degree from the recognised University in
Agriculture Extension.
3 years field experience in the field of specialisation.
Desirable qualification :
1. Ph.D. Degree in the subject concerned.
2. Some experience in the field of KVK.
3. Publications.

field.
(Period of deputation including the period of deputation
in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding the
appointment in the same department/institutions shall not
exceed 3 years). The persons who are presently serving
in KVK on deputation will be considered by the Staff
Selection Committee and if they possess the qualifications
prescribed in column (8) and if they are found suitable they
may be appointed as Subject Matter Specialist (Extension)
on permanent absorption basis.

Governing Body of the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of
recruitment to the post of Subject Matter Specialist (Veterinary) in the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, namely :—
1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society
Subject Matter Specialist (Veterinary) Recruitment Rules, 2006.
(2) They shall come into force on and from the date of their publication in the official gazette.
2. Number of post, its classification and scale of pay.—The number of the said post, its classification and the
scale of pay attached thereto, shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed hereto.
3. Method of recruitment, age limit and other qualifications.—The method of recruitment to the said post,
age limit, qualifications and other matters relating thereto, shall be as specified in columns (5) to (14) of the said
Schedule.
4. Disqualification.—No person,—
(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living ; or
(b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,
shall be eligible for appointment to the said post :
Provided that the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, may if satisfied that such marriage is permissible
under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and there are other grounds for
so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
5. Power to relax.—Where the Karaikal Krishi Vigyan Kendra Society, is of the opinion, that it is necessary
or expedient so to do, he may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these
rules with respect to any class or category of person.
6. Saving.—Nothing in these rules shall affect the reservations, relaxation in upper age limit and other concessions
required to be provided for the scheduled castes, the scheduled tribes and other special categories of persons in
accordance with the orders issued by the Government from time to time in this regard.

RECRUITMENT RULES FOR THE POST OF SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALIST (VETERINARY)

Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur,
