O.M.G: The Face Painting & Tattoo Making Contest<br />

Face painting has been around as an art <strong>for</strong>m since time immemorial. The art has served<br />

various purposes from being a creative passtime to being an essential aspect <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>atre,<br />

tribal ceremonies, to intimidate during wars etc. You don’t really need to be an artist to<br />

get started and enjoy face painting. This is indeed <strong>the</strong> humorous <strong>of</strong> all <strong>event</strong>s. Bring out<br />

your creativity on your friend’s face. So this is <strong>the</strong> <strong>event</strong> <strong>for</strong> all those who are tired and<br />

bored <strong>of</strong> painting on sheet <strong>of</strong> paper and need some real skin stuff to paint upon.<br />

RULES:<br />

1. This is a team <strong>event</strong> and each team shall comprise <strong>of</strong> two members.<br />

2. Each team shall be provided with <strong>the</strong> limited number and quantity <strong>of</strong> colors initially<br />

and no external material is allowed to be used.<br />

3. The <strong>the</strong>me shall be declared on <strong>the</strong> spot.<br />

4. Tattoo making and face painting contest will be judged separately.<br />

AADHAAR: The Wall Painting Contest<br />

A PAPER IS NOT ENOUGH! Is this your view?<br />

SAJEEV: The Clay Modelling Contest<br />

Recall your childhood days, your “BACHPAN”, when your mo<strong>the</strong>r scolded you <strong>for</strong> playing<br />

with mud but here <strong>the</strong>re are no restriction. GET YOUR HANDS DOWN AND DIRTY. No<br />

one is <strong>the</strong>re to stop you. Be an alchemist to turn soil into gold. The art is yours, <strong>the</strong> magic<br />

is yours but we can surely provide you some clay to unleash your creativity.<br />

RULES:<br />

1. This is a team <strong>event</strong> and participants are supposed to <strong>for</strong>m teams <strong>of</strong> not more than<br />

two persons per team.<br />

2. The amount <strong>of</strong> clay given to each team shall be limited.<br />

3. The participants will be provided material <strong>for</strong> internal support only i.e. it must not be<br />

visible in <strong>the</strong> model if used.<br />

4. No outside material has to be used.<br />

ISHOOT: The Photography Contest<br />

‘The true mystery <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> world is <strong>the</strong> visible, not <strong>the</strong> invisible’- Oscar Wilde.<br />

What can be captured in a picture goes well beyond what could ever be captured<br />

with words. I-Shoot <strong>the</strong> “on spot” photography contest is <strong>for</strong> people to convey<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir perspectives through <strong>the</strong>ir camera shot. The participant can take maximum<br />

<strong>of</strong> 3 free shots <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> given object but has to submit only 1 out <strong>of</strong> 3 as his final<br />

shot. And we believe <strong>for</strong> a good photograph all you need is........<br />

just a camera!<br />

RULES:<br />

1. This is an individual <strong>event</strong>.<br />

2. The participant is allowed to take maximum 3 free shots <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> given object<br />

but has to submit only 1 out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 3’s as his final shot.<br />

3. The maximum time limit is 10 minutes.<br />

4. The area <strong>of</strong> shoot is limited and camera will be provided.<br />

DESIGNER’S CUT: The Dress Designing Contest<br />

Sketch, Slit and Stitch, this is all what this <strong>event</strong> is about. Just stitch in time, making<br />

<strong>the</strong> right cut to put across <strong>the</strong> perfect outfit design. Here, participant will have to<br />

clear <strong>the</strong> elims by putting up <strong>the</strong>ir work on paper and selected sketches will pull up<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir socks <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> finals where <strong>the</strong>y will work on fabrics executing <strong>the</strong>ir final work in<br />

real.<br />

RULES:<br />

1. This is a team <strong>event</strong> <strong>of</strong> maximum two members.<br />

2. All <strong>the</strong> required material will be provided on spot and extra materials will not be<br />

allowed to be used.<br />

3. Designing is not restricted by any <strong>the</strong>me.<br />

4. The sketch designed in <strong>the</strong> first round must be portrayed in <strong>the</strong> final<br />

DECIBEL: Battle Of The Bands<br />

6 strings, 60 decibel, 600 waves, 6000 watts... Are you ready to face this arena?<br />

RULES:<br />

The band competition is divided into two sections-<br />

Eliminations:<br />

As soon as settings are complete teams will be given a total <strong>of</strong> 8-10 minutes to per<strong>for</strong>m.<br />

Bands will be awarded negative points <strong>for</strong> exceeding <strong>the</strong> time limit.<br />

Finals:<br />

As soon as settings are complete, teams will be given a total <strong>of</strong> 20 minutes to per<strong>for</strong>m.<br />

Bands will be awarded negative points <strong>for</strong> exceeding <strong>the</strong> time limit.<br />

1. The band should have a minimum <strong>of</strong> 4 members and a maximum <strong>of</strong> 8 members.<br />

2. The band should have at least 3 instruments (including a percussion<br />

instrument).<br />

3. The per<strong>for</strong>mance should not include any kind <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>fensive words<br />

and vulgarity. Any such activity might cause <strong>the</strong> disqualification <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> band.<br />

4. The decision <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> organizing team shall be final and binding to all.<br />

5. Participants need to come along with <strong>the</strong>ir own instruments. Only<br />

a 5 piece standard drum kit will be provided.<br />

2. The instruments provided on stage will include syn<strong>the</strong>sizer, tabla,<br />

and harmonium. Any instrument o<strong>the</strong>r than <strong>the</strong>se should be arranged<br />

by <strong>the</strong> participant himself/herself.<br />

3. The participant has to arrange <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> person who would accompany<br />

him/her on instruments.<br />

4. The song chosen by <strong>the</strong> participant should not display any sort <strong>of</strong><br />

obscenity and should maintain <strong>the</strong> decorum <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> competition.<br />

5. The judgment would be solely based on <strong>the</strong> vocals and <strong>the</strong> background<br />

music would have no effect on <strong>the</strong>ir final scores.<br />

6. The decision made by <strong>the</strong> jury members will be final and binding<br />

to all.<br />

7. The categories ( Hindi light vocal & Semi Classical ) can be merged<br />

depending upon <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> participants.<br />

STYLE CHECK: The Ramp Show<br />

Walk <strong>the</strong> ramp with a difference and create a buzz that’s all about you…<br />

RULES:<br />

The ramp show is divided into two sections-<br />

Elimination Round<br />

Each team will get 10 minutes <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir walk.<br />

Finals:<br />

Each team will get 15 minutes, 12 minutes <strong>for</strong> walk and 3minutes <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> questionnaire<br />

round in which any jury member will put up a question(s) about <strong>the</strong>ir walk or presentation.<br />

1. The abstract has to be submitted during <strong>the</strong> elimination round.<br />

2. A team must comprise <strong>of</strong> a minimum <strong>of</strong> 8 members which could exceed till 15<br />

(Including makeup artists).<br />

3. In case <strong>of</strong> exceeding <strong>the</strong> time limit, negative marks shall be awarded.<br />

4. Your per<strong>for</strong>mance must portray a <strong>the</strong>me which should be in<br />

accordance with <strong>the</strong> decorum <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> college.<br />

5. The costumes, music and presentation will be pre-checked, if found<br />

objectionable, will be rejected.<br />

6. Any obscenity on stage will lead to immediate disqualification.<br />

should not display any sort <strong>of</strong> obscenity and should maintain <strong>the</strong><br />

The competition is divided into two categories: Mono Act & Skit.<br />

MONO-ACT:<br />

1. The act should portray at least two characters.<br />

2. A maximum <strong>of</strong> two props can be used.<br />

3. Real names <strong>of</strong> personages should not be used.<br />

4. On exceeding <strong>the</strong> time limit, negative marks shall be awarded.<br />

5. Submit <strong>the</strong> audio files prior to <strong>the</strong> competition.<br />

6. The act should not portray any vulgarity or obscenity. Use <strong>of</strong> knives and fire is<br />

prohibited.<br />

7. The elimination is <strong>of</strong> 1:30 mins& finals is <strong>of</strong> 3 mins.<br />

SKIT:<br />

1. A team can comprise <strong>of</strong> a maximum <strong>of</strong> 10 members out <strong>of</strong> which<br />

only 8 can be present on stage at a time.<br />

2. The act should not portray any vulgarity or obscenity.<br />

3. Real names <strong>of</strong> personages should not be used.<br />

5. A social issue must be raised as a conclusion.<br />

Guidelines <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> participants<br />

1. Online registrations are open from 18 th <strong>of</strong> December 2011, on <strong>the</strong> college<br />

Website i.e.http://www.gbpuat-tech.ac.in/accolade12/index.html.<br />

2. The registration in <strong>the</strong> college will begin from 26 th January morning and registration<br />

cards will not be issued after 27 th January morning so <strong>the</strong> participants must<br />

reach pantnagar latest by 27 th January,2012 morning.<br />

3. The individual registration fee <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> full fest Rs. 500 including lodging, transporttation<br />

and fooding facilities.<br />

4. Kindly carry your college identity card at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> registration.<br />

5. Kindly carry your two stamp sized photographs at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> registration.<br />

6. Transportation facilities will be available but prior in<strong>for</strong>mation should be provided<br />

regarding your arrival time and route.<br />

7. The food will be provided through <strong>the</strong> system <strong>of</strong> coupons.<br />

8. Mess services will be available at <strong>the</strong> following timings:<br />

Breakfast - 7:30 am – 9:00 am<br />

Lunch time - 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm<br />

Tea time – 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm<br />

Dinner – 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm<br />

9. The participants must report back at <strong>the</strong>ir respective hostels by<br />

<strong>the</strong> specified time and must not leave <strong>the</strong> hostel after that time.<br />

10. Any sort <strong>of</strong> misbehavior or undesirable activity within <strong>the</strong><br />

campus premises must be avoided.<br />

11. The participants should maintain <strong>the</strong> dignity and decorum <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> university and should abide by <strong>the</strong> rules and regulations<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>event</strong>.<br />

12. In any act <strong>of</strong> indiscipline, <strong>the</strong> concerned participant will be<br />

disqualified from <strong>the</strong> fest.<br />

13. The participants must vacate <strong>the</strong> premises by 30 th January 2012,<br />

9:00 am in <strong>the</strong> morning.<br />
