received an Award for Lifetime Achievement 

in Poetry from the National Poetry 

Association. Her autobiographical memoir, 

Recollections of My Life as a Woman, was published 

in 2001 (Viking). She lives in San Francisco.

An anthology of zines from and about New 

Orleans. For years the Big Easy’s punk and 

zine community has thrived, producing 

beautifully rendered volumes of stories and 

artwork inspired by the myriad varieties of 

life in America’s most original city. 

Reprinted here in their original formats are 

selections from over a dozen zines including: 

Chainbreaker, Nosedive, Crude Noise, Rocket Queen, 

Emergency, I Hate This Part of Texas and Chihuahua and 

Pitbull—and first-hand experiences with 

Hurricane Katrina. 

Now that many of the originals have been 

lost or destroyed in the wake of the 

hurricane, this book is both a preservation 

of writing and artwork, and an attempt to 

aid in rebuilding the city that inspired and 

shaped this body of work. Proceeds from 

Stories Care Forgot will be split among grassroots 

New Orleans groups. 

Ethan Clark, a longtime New Orleanian, was 

involved in the DIY punk underground and 

has contributed to Maximum Rock'n'Roll and the 

Zine Yearbook. Shortly after the Katrina 

disaster, Clark put out a call for NOLA zine 

submissions—recognizing that many of the 

originals had been lost or destroyed—in 

order to preserve this rare writing and 

artwork. He lives in Asheville, NC.

Seven years ago, Rebecca Norris Webb 

wandered into the Coney Island Aquarium 

and spotted a white beluga whale soaring 

high above the heads of visitors, who were 

reflected in the glass. Since then, Webb has 

photographed urban animals in New York, 

Chicago, Havana, Istanbul, New Delhi, 

Paris, and other cities around the world, 

often viewing the animals through a 

transparent barrier. She shows us that in a 

certain light, the glass between us can be a 

window and a mirror. 

Rebecca Norris Webb, originally a poet and 

journalist, began photographing in 1988. 

This project, sponsored by the Blue Earth 

Alliance, was recently exhibited at the 

Griffin Museum of Photography in 

Winchester, MA. Rebecca lives in Brooklyn

photographic essay about W.B. Yeats, Irish 

photographer Alen MacWeeney came upon a 

gypsy camp and became captivated by the 

dramatic stories and nomadic lives of the 

Travellers, Irish Gypsies. For centuries they 

have roamed Ireland in horse carts, working 

as tinsmiths, horse trainers, circus 

performers, and roustabouts. MacWeeney

FREIGHT POLICY 

All shipping is via UPS/FedEx Ground unless 

requested otherwise. FOB Gardena. 

Any shortages or any merchandise received 

damaged must be reported within 20 days 

of the invoice date. 

CREDIT 

All accounts are NET 30 DAYS. 

DISCOUNT POLICY 

Titles may be mixed to qualify for a discount. 

Orders on 1 to 4 books must be prepaid. 

Reorders will be given the same discount as 

the initial order for the season. 

RETURN POLICY 

No permission is required for returns on trade 

titles within one year of purchase (include original 

invoice number and date purchased); after one 

year, permission is required. All returns must ship 

directly to the warehouse. All maps are strictly 

nonreturnable.
