Get Ready for Digital TV
Digital television programming is aired today. Analog
signal will continue through February 17. 2009.
At that point, full-power TV stations will cease
broadcasting on their current analog channels.
For consumers, this change will likely mean a
better quality television picture & more channel
options. But, if you don’t have a digital TV you will
have to add new equipment.
Making Your Analog TV Work With Digital
At some point you may need some new equipment. If
you’re a cable or satellite customer, your provider can
tell you if you need more equipment. Otherwise, you
will need to purchase a converter box from a retail store
and this box changes digital signals to analog format
that your set can use. Keep in mind that every analog
set in your house will need a converter box. Between
January 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009. all U.S. households
will be eligible to request up to two coupons, worth $40
each to use toward the purchase of up to two digital to
analog converter boxes. More information can be found
at http://www.ntia.dic.gov.
This group will provide an opportunity for caregivers
to discuss how their lives have been affected
as they help a loved one with Alzheimer’s
disease or related dementia. A safe
and supportive environment will be created so
group members can share feelings and coping
strategies, reduce feelings of loneliness and find
new meaning, connection, and hope.
