Create a
Christmas card
Use your creative powers to make a unique Christmas card for
your buddy. To get you started, follow the steps below.
Steps for creating a Christmas card
1. Plan your card design
Think of a design idea that you would like to do. What words and
images will you use? How will you create your card? What materials
will you need? Using pencil and paper draw a sketch of your idea.
2. Gather your materials
Make a list of the materials you will need to create your card.
Gather these together. You will also need a standard-sized overseas
envelope to post it in.
3. Create your card
Make sure to first cut your card to a size that will fit inside the
envelope. Then go to it. Create your very own unique Christmas card.
Q: Can I send a Christmas gift?
A: Yes, provided the gift fits into a standard-sized
envelope. Small, flat and inexpensive items like
balloons, stickers, postcards or pencils are OK.
Large, bulky gifts can attract unwanted attention.
They can also incur taxes that World Vision has
to pay before the gift can be delivered.

1. Go online and do a Google search, (ask your parents for help if you need it), and find out
about Christmas in your Worldbuddy’s country.
2. Look for things that are similar and different in terms of how we celebrate Christmas here
in New Zealand and how your Buddy celebrates it in his / her county.

• Write your sponsored child’s full name and reference

the envelope.
