10 REVELATION is NOT a Mystery—TEACHER’S GUIDE FUTURE 5) We have heard of this voice before. There is no doubt about its owner: the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. His voice is now sweetly musical, again. It is no longer like a thunderous war trumpet. REVELATION 14:3 And they (those in heaven) sang a new song, before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one could learn the song except the one hundred and forty four thousand who had been purchased from the earth. 6) Though still on earth, the 144,000 witnesses learn the song sung by the heavenly chorus. The souls in heaven sing the new song and the 144,000 on earth join the heavenly chorus. Everyone in heaven sings, but only the 144,000 on earth are able to join them. The 144,000 are mature believers. They have been faithful and they appreciate what Christ did to purchase them. They wish to give Him glory. 7) The song recognizes God’s LOVE and GOODNESS in direct rebuttal to Satan’s accusation that God is not good and loving. The earthly evangelists sing in God’s defense in the angelic conflict. PSALM 107 provides a clue as to the words of the song. PSALM 107: 1, 2 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His loving kindness is everlasting. Let the redeemed (The purchased ones) of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary (from Satan’s grasp)... 8) Song: “Heaven, Heaven, Won’t you join us in Heaven?” Words and music included in lesson, Student Songbook or Teacher’s Appendix. Or, “NOW I BELONG TO JESUS”, Great Hymns of the Faith, p. 487 9) In REVELATION 7:3-8, God sealed 144,000 Jewish Witnesses and promised to protect them through the Tribulation. Well, here they are, standing in their natural bodies, on earth at Christ’s Second Coming. This is the event called the separation of the Sheep and the goats. The 144,000 are part of the sheep (believers). In the event known as “the baptism of fire” the goats (living unbelievers) are sent to Torments, in the center of the earth to await the Great White Throne
THE TRIBULATION Salvation during the Tribulation ~ Evangelism during the Tribulation REVELATION 14:1-711 Judgment at the end of the Millennium. Students should understand the separation of sheep and goats occurs at the end of the Tribulation and the 144,000 Jewish witnesses are part of those referred to as ―sheep‖ in this event. All living believers of the Tribulation go into the Millennium in their physical bodies. Living unbelievers go to Torments in the center of the earth to await their final transfer to the Lake of Fire. Use visuals to explain the separation of the sheep and goats and identify the Baptism of Fire. (Visuals in Teacher’s Appendix) Name each part and allow questions. Also, use Sheol-Hades Chart at end of lesson. This chart may be copied and distributed to students. It may be enlarged for class display. d. Not one has been lost. 1) Here, is another great truth: the Great Shepherd takes care of His sheep. At the beginning of the Tribulation, the Shepherd watches over a flock of 144,000 sheep and seven years later the Shepherd stands on earth with the same flock of sheep. 2) Now, let me ask you a question. How many sheep does the Shepherd have with Him? Are there 143,000 sheep standing on Mount Zion with Jesus Christ? Are there only 140,000? No! What does the Scripture say? (Note: REVELATION 14:1. Students should turn there and follow in their Bibles as Teacher reads.) JESUS CHRIST STANDS ON MOUNT ZION WITH THE EXACT NUMBER OF SHEEP HE HAD AT FIRST. THE GREAT SHEPHERD HAS NOT LOST A SINGLE SHEEP! 3) Remember (if you are His Lamb) you will be with Him at the end. He will never leave you nor forsake you. You will always belong to the Great Shepherd. ISAIAH 40:11b …He gathers the Lambs in His arms and carries them close to his heart. JESUS, THE SHEPHERD, CARRIES YOU AS ONE OF HIS LAMBS, EVER SO SOFTLY AND TENDERLY AND WILL SEE TO IT THAT YOU ARE THERE WITH HIM AT THE END. 4) Scripture tells us more about the specific flock of sheep spoken of in REVELATION 14:1 in the 4th verse of Chapter 14. REVELATION 14:4 These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they have kept themselves chaste (they have remained spiritually pure). These are they who follow the Lamb
