BROMADIALONE EXTRUDED BAIT BLOCKS
FOR THE CONTROL OF RATS AND MICE
Contains 0.005% w/w Bromadiolone
Neobrom Bait Blocks are effective against mice and rats including strains
resistant to some other anticoagulants. Two or more feeds are required to
produce a delayed mortality (4-10 days): most rodents die in their burrows
out of sight. The resistance status of the target population should be
taken into account when considering the choice of rodenticide to be used.
Neobrom Bait Blocks contain denatonium benzoate to help prevent accidental
human consumption.
Wild mammals and birds may be at greater risk if this product is not used
in accordance with the label.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
EXPLORE THE SITE: Locate runs, burrows, droppings, signs of damage.
To increase the likelihood of bait takes, it is particularly important to
ensure that the availability of other food sources is minimised at the
onset of treatment.
BAITING FOR RATS: Place up to 5 blocks per bait point. Place a
good number of bait points in dry locations throughout the infested
area on runs, in burrows and where droppings are seen.
BAITING FOR MICE: Place one block per bait point. As mice are
sporadic feeders use many bait points, 1 - 2 metres apart, wherever
droppings, damage or other signs of activity are seen.
ALWAYS: Place bait where it is inaccessible to children, animals and
birds. Protect and cover baitfor example, place baits in suitable trays or
containers under cupboards, behind furniture etc. or use open-ended
PROFESSIONAL
boxes, lengths of drainpipe or sheets of metal or wood secured at an
angle against walls. Where appropriate, secure the bait block at its
placement site to reduce the likelihood of its removal by rodents.
INSPECTION: Inspect baits frequently, replace eaten blocks, put back any
moved blocks. If a bait point is completely consumed, the quantity should
be increased. Continue replenishing baits until they are left untouched.
CLEARING UP: Remove all remains of bait and bait containers and
dispose of as detailed above. Where appropriate, secure the bait block
at its placement site to reduce the likelihood of its removal by rodents
or by surges of water if intended for use in sewers.
NOTE TO DOCTOR
Bromadiolone is an indirect anticoagulant. Phytomenadione,
Vitamin K1, is antidotal. Determine prothrombin times not less than
eighteen hours after consumption. If elevated, administer Vitamin K1
in divided doses. Continue until prothrombin time normalises.
After withdrawal of the antidote, continue determination of prothrombin
time for two weeks and resume treatment if elevation occurs in that
time. NB Vitamin K3 is not effective.
