Dr. Hörmann is <strong>the</strong> simul<strong>at</strong>ion engineer <strong>at</strong> CADFEM GmbH for product<br />

LS-DYNA & <strong>ANSYS</strong>/LS-DYNA since 2003. He passed with distinction in<br />

civil engineering <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> University of Stuttgart (1992) and holds degree<br />

(Ph.D) <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute of Structural Mechanics from University of Stuttgart<br />

(2002).<br />

New trends in portable electronics<br />

Germano Freitas gradu<strong>at</strong>ed in Mechanical Engineering (1997) and holds<br />

degree (Ph.D.) in Naval Engineering (2003) <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> University of São<br />

Paulo (USP). Germano has over ten years of experience in numerical<br />

simul<strong>at</strong>ions and mechanical testing. Nowadays he is <strong>the</strong> Technical<br />

Manager of <strong>the</strong> Mechanics Group <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> Nokia Institute of Technology<br />

(Brazil) and coordin<strong>at</strong>es a multidisciplinary team working on intern<strong>at</strong>ional<br />

projects focusing on <strong>the</strong> mechanical reliability of electronic components.<br />

Numerical Simul<strong>at</strong>ions <strong>at</strong> MWM-Intern<strong>at</strong>ional Motores<br />

Luiz Fernando Raminelli studied Aeronautical Engineering <strong>at</strong> ITA (1983)<br />

and holds degrees from UFSC and UNICAMP. He has 24 years of<br />

experience in <strong>the</strong> aerospace, machinery and automotive industries.<br />

Raminelli is currently <strong>the</strong> Engineering Design Supervisor <strong>at</strong> MWM-<br />

Intern<strong>at</strong>ional Motores. He coordin<strong>at</strong>es <strong>the</strong> Advanced Analysis and<br />

Simul<strong>at</strong>ions area <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> Engines Design Department.<br />
