Todd McDevitt is a member of <strong>the</strong> Product Str<strong>at</strong>egy and Planning Team<br />

<strong>at</strong> <strong>ANSYS</strong>, Inc. and has more than 10 years experience in designing and<br />

developing commercial CAE software. His areas of expertise include<br />

nonlinear finite element analysis, linear dynamics, and multibody<br />

dynamics. At <strong>ANSYS</strong> his efforts are directed towards facilit<strong>at</strong>ing <strong>the</strong><br />

company's R&D planning process, <strong>the</strong> annual alloc<strong>at</strong>ion of funds for<br />

product development, and <strong>the</strong> str<strong>at</strong>egic decision-making associ<strong>at</strong>ed with<br />

company-wide product and technology objectives. Mr. McDevitt received<br />

his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from <strong>the</strong> University of Michigan and<br />

holds a Professional Engineering license in <strong>the</strong> St<strong>at</strong>e of Michigan.<br />

<strong>ANSYS</strong> Mechanical Products Upd<strong>at</strong>e<br />

Mr. Pawlak has over 25 years of experience in software development. He<br />

obtained bachelors and masters degrees in mechanical engineering <strong>at</strong><br />

West Virginia University. Mr. Pawlak has worked for <strong>ANSYS</strong>, Inc. since<br />

March 1984. At <strong>ANSYS</strong>, Inc. Mr. Pawlak has developed simul<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

technology in a variety of simul<strong>at</strong>ion areas including electromagnetic<br />

fields, stress analysis, optimiz<strong>at</strong>ion methods, contact mechanics, and<br />

multibody dynamics. He currently helps guide <strong>the</strong> design and<br />

development of <strong>ANSYS</strong> Workbench.<br />

Chris is a senior product manager in <strong>the</strong> Fluids Business Unit <strong>at</strong> <strong>ANSYS</strong>,<br />

Inc. Chris has been <strong>the</strong> product manager for FLUENT since April 2005,<br />

after joining <strong>the</strong> FLUENT product management team in May of 2004. She<br />

is responsible for prioritizing market requirements and working with <strong>the</strong><br />

FLUENT development team to address market needs in all industry<br />

sectors. She also works on product promotion activities and<br />

communic<strong>at</strong>es new FLUENT fe<strong>at</strong>ures and benefits to customers, <strong>ANSYS</strong><br />

support staff and <strong>the</strong> <strong>ANSYS</strong> sales channel. Before joining product<br />

management, Chris was a support engineer on <strong>the</strong> chemicals industry<br />

team <strong>at</strong> Fluent. Prior to joining Fluent in 2002, Chris worked <strong>at</strong> DuPont,<br />

most recently as an Internal Consultant in DuPont's Engineering<br />

Technology division where she applied FLUENT to a variety of problems.<br />

Chris earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Chemical<br />

Engineering from <strong>the</strong> University of Rochester and is currently a MBA<br />

student <strong>at</strong> Nor<strong>the</strong>astern University.<br />

Advanced Numerical Simul<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>at</strong> Usiminas R&D Center<br />

Leonardo Camilo dos Reis is Mechanical Engineer with 13 years of<br />

experience and holds degree in Metallurgical Engineering<br />

(M.Sc.).Nowadays he is working as a research engineer <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> Usiminas´<br />

Research and Development Center - in Ip<strong>at</strong>inga (Brazil). Leonardo<br />

develops comput<strong>at</strong>ional analysis of products and processes using<br />

<strong>ANSYS</strong> in <strong>the</strong> structural, <strong>the</strong>rmal and fluid dynamics fields. He<br />

coordin<strong>at</strong>es <strong>the</strong> numerical comput<strong>at</strong>ional simul<strong>at</strong>ion team <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Usiminas’ R&D Center and provides technical assistance to <strong>the</strong><br />

production departments as well as to <strong>the</strong> company´s customers and also<br />

consulting services to o<strong>the</strong>r steel companies in L<strong>at</strong>in America. He<br />

performs stress measurements with strain gages of equipments and<br />

Germano Freitas gradu<strong>at</strong>ed in Mechanical Engineering (1997) and holds<br />

Paulo (USP). Germano has over ten years of experience in numerical<br />

simul<strong>at</strong>ions and mechanical testing. Nowadays he is <strong>the</strong> Technical<br />

Manager of <strong>the</strong> Mechanics Group <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> Nokia Institute of Technology<br />

(Brazil) and coordin<strong>at</strong>es a multidisciplinary team working on intern<strong>at</strong>ional<br />

projects focusing on <strong>the</strong> mechanical reliability of electronic components.<br />

Numerical Simul<strong>at</strong>ions <strong>at</strong> MWM-Intern<strong>at</strong>ional Motores<br />

Luiz Fernando Raminelli studied Aeronautical Engineering <strong>at</strong> ITA (1983)<br />

and holds degrees from UFSC and UNICAMP. He has 24 years of<br />

experience in <strong>the</strong> aerospace, machinery and automotive industries.<br />

Roberto Mendonça gradu<strong>at</strong>ed in mechanical engineering <strong>at</strong> UERJ (1973)<br />

and has specialized in pressure vessels and structures projects. He<br />

joined Petrobras in1974 where he worked <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> Landulpho Alves<br />
