CHAMBER MUSIC
When one thinks of chamber
music one tends to think first of
string quartets. Composing for
·string quartet really got under
way in the classical period with
Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven,
but ~j:ontinues to be a favourite
combination of composers
ihroughout the nineteenth and
into the twentieth Century. On
March 2 the Toronto String
Quartet will be joined by pianist,
Angela Cheng, in their Music
Toronto Concert. Three European
quartets will be perfonning here
