HIGH-DEFINITION NIGHT VISION
T
When it gets dark, you might as well be blindfolded!
“I could not believe how
the front door of the
residence was now in
perfect sight which I was
not able to determine
with my naked eye.
With my naked eye I
was not even able to see
that multiple doorways
existed. Now with the
SuperVision in use I was
able to see the suspect,
observe the exact
doorway that was being
used by the suspect, the
number on the doorway
and vehicle registrations
that were associated with
this residence. This was
all done from inside my
under-cover vehicle.”
Handgun, baton, vest, flashlight, cuffs – cops have a lot of tools to
get the job done. But a cop’s greatest asset is his eyes. And when
you’re working at night, no matter if it’s on patrol, serving a warrant,
chasing a bad guy, or a thousand other tasks, you might as well be
blindfolded. You’re working with a huge disadvantage, because you
just can’t see what you’re dealing with.
SuperVision is in a class by itself. Unlike image intensified night vision
devices that have been adopted for law enforcement, SuperVision
has been built from the ground up, especially designed for police and
agents and their special requirements in an increasing dangerous
urban environment. Xenonics engineers have taken solid-state, wide
dynamic range imaging to the next level of sophistication with the
application of digital signal processing (DSP) and image enhancement
software that brings otherwise indistinguishable forms into sharp
identifiable objects. This advanced technology, built in SuperVision,
gives law enforcement the tactical edge they need for situational
awareness, intelligence and evidence.
Take Back the Night

No matter the mission or need, Xenonics has a SuperVision that is specifically designed for you.
SuperVision is an essential force multiplier that fills situational awareness and evidentiary capture capability gaps for law enforcement. SuperVision
provides officers and agents the ability to accomplish tasks more effectively and safely at night, increasing the ability to move and control situations
by detecting and identifying suspicious activity and people that would otherwise not have been seen; elevating situational awareness of the
subject and surrounding area; and increasing range of identification and engagement, protecting officers who would otherwise be vulnerable.
SuperVision’s proprietary architecture combines:
• the most light sensitive CCD sensor available today – for extreme low light viewing;
• a High Definition black & white display – view your scene in ultra-high resolution and contrast – for superior detail & situational awareness;
• proprietary digital signal processing – affords the ultimate in versatility – allows you to see every detail in low-light conditions, high-light
conditions, and with bright light in low-light scenes without blooming, even full daylight;
• 2-8X variable zoom – to get you in close to the exact details you need, without actually having to get close.
SuperVision®
Gives you what you need at night – crystal clear,
high definition, high contrast visual information
– no matter what the conditions are (from pitch
black to dusk or daylight, even with bright light in
otherwise dark scenes) without blooming.
HIGH-DEFINITION NIGHT VISION - PATROL PACKAGE
It’s what you don’t see...
WASHINGTON – Nearly 40% of police
officers fatally shot this year have
been slain in ambush-style attacks or
when they were surprised by suspects
with firearms, according to USA
TODAY.
“This is a devastating and
unacceptable trend,” Attorney
General Eric Holder told law
enforcement officials this month in
Washington.
SuperVision used in patrol cars or as
a mobile handheld device can keep
officers out of harm’s way.
SuperVision Patrol Package
You’ve got a lot of tools to get the job done -- handgun, shotgun, vest,
at night, you might as well be blindfolded. You just can’t see what you’re
dealing with and what you don’t see can hurt you.
HIGH-DEFINITION NIGHT VISION
SuperVision – a class by itself
Unlike most post Desert Storm Gen I, Gen II or Gen III image intensified night vision devices that have been adopted
for law enforcement, SuperVision has been built from the ground up, especially designed for police and agents and
their special requirements in an increasing dangerous urban environment. While there are plenty of night vision and
thermal imaging products on the market, only SuperVision is so unique that it’s in a class by itself.
Murrieta Police Dept. “SuperVision is a great piece of
Officer Safety Equipment. It allows you to see, at night,
what you cannot see with the naked eye. SuperVision
allows you to work without giving away your position,
and from a much safer distance. Works great for calls
for service as well as routine patrol. The ability to use
SuperVision inside the car from the KDT and quickly
and safely go on foot when you need gives you a great
advantage”
Fort Worth Police Dept. “ We have set up watching
dope houses and then knocked down the cars as they
leave. SuperVision has enabled us to see hand to hand
transactions and get really good descriptions on the
actors.
The other night, after a car pursuit, the passenger hid
in a heavily wooded area. One of my guys was on
the perimeter and when the search team flushed him
out, he was able to see the actor sneaking out under
the concealment (or so he thought) of darkness. He
was apprehended in an under the roadway tunnel
by my team member. This particular bad guy was on
our 10 most wanted list and had evaded our officers 7
previous times - once earlier in the same day.
The unit has definitely made our job easier and more
productive. I appreciate the officer safety factor
that the unit brings to the table. The zoom enables
me to position officers at positions that offer more
cover, distance, and control than Gen 3 night vision.
Of course, the safety of my officers is paramount
and I worry less when I can keep them in a tactically
advantageous position.”
Dauphin County Drug Task Force “I was using it
on surveillance in the evening hours at an apartment
complex that was very poorly lit. The apartment street
lighting was spaced far apart and no lighting was
near the suspects entry which was about 40 feet away
from the street. The evening was cloudy and very
little natural light was available. With the naked eye,
I was unable to observe anything from my position
of surveillance in a vehicle positioned about 40 or
50 yards from the target location. This investigation
required the police to be able to see the suspect come
and go from the front door of the residence without
being too close that the investigation would be
compromised.
I then used the SuperVision and was stunned. I could
not believe how the front door of the residence was
now in perfect sight which I was not able to determine
with my naked eye. With my naked eye I was not even
able to see that multiple doorways existed. Now with
the SuperVision in use I was able to see the suspect,
observe the exact doorway that was being used by
the suspect, the number on the doorway and vehicle
registrations that were associated with this residence.
This was all done from inside my undercover vehicle.
This is definitely a valuable tool for law enforcement.”
US Forest Service “On one particular night another
agent and I were on LP/OP assignments approximately
250 yards from a known “drop” location. My partner
was equipped with a typical Gen 3 green light scope
and I with my SuperVision. As the targets approached,
I was able, with the zoom capabilities, to capture
all the activities taking place to include bundle
exchanges where my partner could only see “ants on
the hillside”. I looked through his green light scope just
for comparison sake and saw exactly that, “ants on a
hillside”. Without SuperVision, we would have missed a
60 pound narcotics exchange, the subsequent arrest of
4 individuals and the seizure of 2 firearms.!”
Evansville Police Dept. “This is the best night vision
system I have used. The clarity and resolution is great.
I believe this system is much more useful for urban law
enforcement than Gen 3 night vision.”

Ridgecrest Police Dept. “We used SuperVision
during nighttime narcotics buys. The clarity with
which SuperVision provided us was second to none.
SuperVision assisted us in locating a suspect hiding in
a car over 50 ft. away that had fired a gun in the air in
a residential neighborhood. Without it or using Gen
2 or 3, we may not have been able to see him. Thanks
SuperVision!”
Kansas Wildlife & Parks “I would recommend
SuperVision to urban law enforcement agencies. The
system works great for surveillance in town and the
zoom is great.”
Luna County Sheriff’s Dept “SuperVision’s digital
zoom is great to standard Gen 3 night vision. Very easy
to operate and work. The black and white screen is
great. You don’t see any snow like most Gen 3 have.”
Orange City Police Dept. “Overall, it is much better
than other N.V. that’s on the market. The simple fact
that is has a zoom or zoom capabilities is a major
plus. You can use it in an urban environment where
headlights, street lights & signs are being used without
a blooming effect. The clarity is much better than
other night vision.”
US Marshals Service (Atlantic City) “Far more
versatile especially during surveillance ops in urban
areas. System allow user to see into dark areas that fall
beyond light sources such as street lights.”
Clayton Police Dept. “I would absolutely recommend
the SuperVision Digital Night Vision system to any Law
Enforcement Agency that is considering some type
of night vision equipment. The system is easy to use,
easy to operate. It offers a recharge battery, carrying
case, compact size and seems to be very durable in its
construction. Several of our officers tested the device
and found it to be very useful and practical for it’s size
and shape.”
Oxnard Police Dept. “This product is far superior to
the other night vision systems that I have used. The
fact that it is a hand held night vision system makes it
really easy to take out in the field. I used the night
vision to scout out several locations for search
warrants. The clarity was excellent. The system makes
it easy to identify suspects.”
Zion Police Dept. “We have set up watching dope
houses, and it gave us an eyeball on our snitch from
a safe distance away. We have tried Gen 2+ but have
found that SuperVision is 100% better. It gives us zoom
capabilities and we didn’t get the blooming effect.
Great product. Great price.”
Pawnee Nation Police Dept. “Found SuperVision
to be superior over other night vision products. The
greatest advantage was being able to change setting
to adjust to different light or dark conditions.”
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office “This product
works very well in surveillance situations.”
North Las Vegas Police Dept. “SuperVision is an
asset to any team that lacks night vision capability.
Overall quality is very good and the unit operated
without a problem during our test and evaluation
period. Thanks for making night vision more
affordable.”
Kenosha Police Dept. “I was in a cemetery looking
for a suicidal subject with a gun and going to hang
himself. I was able to search the area with confidence
that the suspect was not in the area. It was later
determined that he failed at his attempt to hang
himself and fled the area to his residence. He was later
picked up. With SuperVision I felt I had an advantage
over the suspect.”
Paris Police Dept. “Excellent product. I would
recommend to any military unit or law enforcement
division.”
Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office “Compact,
lightweight, the zoom is a nice feature. Does not show
light to the front. This product is ideal with minimum
ambient light. Urban and moonlit nights make this
the perfect tool for many problems.”

“I could not believe how the
front door of the residence was
now in perfect sight which I was
not able to determine with my
naked eye. With my naked eye
I was not even able to see that
multiple doorways existed. Now
with the SuperVision in use I was
able to see the suspect, observe
the exact doorway that was
being used by the suspect, the
number on the doorway and
vehicle registrations that were
associated with this residence.
This was all done from inside
my under-cover vehicle.”
SuperVision
“When something’s going down in the dark, I need to be close enough
to identify the subject or situation without being compromised.” For
law enforcement professionals like you, you’ve got to be close enough
to identify exactly what’s happening, but not compromise yourself or
your operation. SuperVision gives you crystal clear images in any lighting
condition, to get you the situational awareness, intelligence and the
evidence you need to do it right and make it stick.
The Tactical Edge
SuperVision is built on an entirely new, patented technology. Xenonics’
engineers have taken solid-state, wide-dynamic range imaging to next
level of sophistication with the application of digital signal processing (DSP)
& image enhancement software that brings otherwise indistinguishable
forms into sharp identifiable objects. This advanced technology, built in
SuperVision, gives law enforcement the tactical edge they need to identify
people and objects with crystal clarity.
SuperVision -- a Class by Itself
Unlike most post Desert Storm Gen I, Gen II or Gen III image intensified night
vision devices that have been adopted for law enforcement, SuperVision
has been built from the ground up, especially designed for officers and
agents and their special requirements in an increasing dangerous urban
environment. While there are plenty of night vision and thermal imaging
products on the market, only SuperVision is so unique that it’s in a class by
itself.

HIGH-DEFINITION NIGHT VISION
T
Night Vision Product Overview
Night vision products come in a variety of product types based on the particular application. They can further be
divided between analog light amplification (image intensified or I2) devices, thermal imagery devices and digital
viewing devices (so-called Digital Night Vision). SuperVision employs a radically different technological platform to
provide enhanced visual information in high definition and high contrast to identify objects viewed, over a much
broader range of night-time conditions, specifically designed for law enforcement.
Light amplification devices provide a viewable image to the user during
low-light conditions by amplifying the available ambient light in the
environment. Typically, they amplify the ambient light by factors of
20,000 to 50,000 times. Analog light amplification devices are referred to
as Gen I, Gen II or Gen III, with increasingly higher amplification with
progressive generations. Since the end of the cold war, significant numbers
of Gen I, Gen II, Gen II+ and Russian night vision devices have become
available on the commercial market. Gen III, the current military standard,
is designed to detect opposing forces under triple-canopy rural conditions.
The second main type of night vision device is a thermal imaging device.
These devices detect and process the heat signature of a particular object
and display this image to the user independent of the ambient light. A
particular benefit of thermal imaging devices is that they can penetrate
dust, smoke and snow and provide their image to the user in conditions
that otherwise would significantly hamper light amplification devices.
The last type of night vision device is digital night vision. These devices
employ inexpensive consumer-grade CCD camera technology, coupled with
low-cost, low resolution near-eye displays, poor quality lenses and clusters of LEDs for active illumination. These
devices provide poor quality images at distance of no greater than 30 feet using active illumination. Without use of
their active illumination, these devices are useless at night.
Capability Gaps for Law Enforcement
All types of military night vision devices have made inroads with law enforcement and security. However, designed
for military missions, each of these products have technical limitations that prevent them from meeting the needs
of law enforcement and security. Night vision devices, whether analog or digital, are characterized by their limited
intra-scene dynamic range. For example, analog night vision devices offer the capacity to detect objects in low-light
conditions. However, in a night-time urban environment characterized by bright lights intermixed with areas of
darkness and shadows, as well as dynamic lighting conditions, analog devices, that are intolerant of high ambient
light, bloom and can be damaged when observing bright sources under low-light conditions.
Thermal imagers detect and display surface temperatures only – when objects and surrounding temperatures are the
same, objects are difficult to discern.
Both analog night vision and thermal imaging devices are designed for the military battelfield to detect objects, and
employ 1X magnification (same as the naked eye) to do so. These technologies cannot provide enough contrast, detail
or resolution to recognize or identify civilian from insurgent, innocent bystander from perp.

S
SuperVision – a class by itself
S
Unlike most post Desert Storm Gen I, Gen II or Gen III image intensified night vision devices that have been
adopted for law enforcement, SuperVision has been built from the ground up, especially designed for police and
agents and their special requirements in an increasingly dangerous urban environment. While there are plenty
of night vision and thermal imaging products on the market, only SuperVision is so unique that it’s in a class by
itself.
SuperVision is designed specifically for law enforcement to fill the void in performance and versatility left by night
vision and thermal imaging technologies. SuperVision gives law enforcement officers and agents what you need –
crystal clear, high definition, high contrast visual information – no matter what the conditions are (from pitch black
to dusk or daylight, even with bright light in otherwise dark scenes) without blooming, and zoom for getting close –
for unmatched situational awareness, intelligence and evidence so critical to the job.
SuperVision’s proprietary architecture combines:
• the most light sensitive CCD sensor available today – for extreme low light viewing;
• a High Definition (HD) black & white display – to project the scene in ultra-high resolution and high contrast –
for superior detail and situational awareness;
• proprietary digital signal processing – affords the ultimate in versatility – allows you to see every detail in lowlight
conditions, high-light conditions, and with bright light in low-light scenes without blooming, even full
daylight
• 2-8X variable zoom – to get you in close to the exact details you need, without actually having to get close (in
contrast to the 1X of the more tactically oriented conventional I2 devices);
• covert infrared illumination – undetectable by the naked eye, lights up the scene for maximum fidelity in even
the darkest situations
SuperVision is an essential force multiplier that fills situational awareness and evidentiary capture capability gaps for
rural and urban law enforcement. The system provides officers and agents the ability to accomplish tasks more
effectively and safely at night, increasing the
ability to move and control situations by
detecting and identifying suspicious activity and
people that would otherwise not have been seen;
elevating situational awareness of the subject
and surrounding area; and increasing range of
identification and engagement, protecting officers
who otherwise would be vulnerable to attack.

VIDEO OUT
“On one particular night another
agent and I were on LP/OP
assignments approximately 250
yards from a known "drop" location.
My partner was equipped with a
typical Gen 3 green light scope
and I with my SuperVision. As the
targets approached, I was able, with
the zoom capabilities, to capture
all the activities taking place to
include bundle exchanges where
my partner could only see "ants
on the hillside". I looked through
his green light scope just for
comparison sake and saw exactly
that, "ants on a hillside". Without
SuperVision, we would have missed
a 60 pound narcotics exchange, the
subsequent arrest of 4 individuals
and the seizure of 2 firearms..”
SuperVision
“When something’s going down in the dark, I need to be close enough
to identify the subject or situation without being compromised.” For
law enforcement professionals like you, you’ve got to be close enough
to identify exactly what’s happening, but not compromise yourself or
your operation. SuperVision gives you crystal clear images in any lighting
condition, to get you the situational awareness, intelligence and record
the evidence you need.
