The January 2012 figures show an overall increasing trend in the numbers of
Early Years children from 3-4 years to 0-1 years. This indicates that the number
of reception year pupils will continue to rise at least until 2014/15.
As a result of these rising birth rates coupled with net inward migration and new
housebuilding in Area 3, it is forecast that there will be a shortfall of approximately
10 reception places in September 2014.
Latest forecasts indicate that a further form of entry is required at Clifford Bridge in
response to rising numbers. These places would be additional to the extra 60
Reception places already created in this area since 2008.
