RADIO FREQUENCY TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
FOR MACHINING CENTERS AND MILLING MACHINES
The Mida E86N probe system, with radio frequency
transmission, is designed for use on milling machines and
small and large machining centers.
With 64 channels available, the E86N system allows a large
number of machines to be set up in the same production
area.
Other advantages of the E86N system:
• Versatile use on large, medium and small machines
• Easy to install
• Simple programming
• Flexible operation on 5-axis milling machines with tilting
spindle
• Possibility of part probing even without line of sight between
transmitter and receiver
The E86N system consists of the following main parts:
Transmitter - Probe
The transmitter - probe touches the part and transmits
the touch status to the CNC by means of the antenna and
interface allowing the part co-ordinates and dimensions to be
calculated. There are two different models:
MODULAR: compatible with all Mida range touch probes,
allowing a high level of versatility.
COMPACT (E86N-P): with integrated probe, particularly
suitable for all applications requiring a shorter probe unit.
Interface
The E86N system interface relays the received probe trigger
and status data to the CNC. It also facilitate programming
and viewing of operating parameters for the whole system on
a digital display. This simplifies programming and installation
operations.
Antenna
The antenna, connected via cable to the interface, is designed
to withstand the most hostile machine conditions. A sealed
connector at its base facilitates easy installation, maintenance
or change-over operations.
The transmission distance can be extended using two
antennas.
Two versions of the E86N system are available, in compliance
with international standards for radio transmissions:
• European version: standard ETSI EN 300 220 (transmission
frequency 433 MHz)
• USA and Canada version: standard FCC part 15
(transmission frequency 915 MHz).
