The Adagio Digital Media System (ADMS) represents the pinnacle of digital media
players. As the centerpiece for a Crestron home theater or audio distribution
system, the ADMS provides an easy, powerful way to organize and enjoy a
complete collection of music and video from anywhere is the house, with the ability
to quickly locate and play any song, video, movie, or TV program whether it’s
stored on the ADMS, played from a DVD, or available online.
The ADMS brings digital media together into one attractive solution, incorporating
an audiophile-grade multimedia server, Blu-ray Disc-compatible DVD player, Web
browser and Web-based streaming media player. With ADMS, Crestron combined
the user interface, Internet connectivity, download, storage, and playback
capabilities of numerous disparate products in a single package that’s more secure,
reliable, simple to operate, and fun to use.
World Search—With the ADMS, The World is Your Server. Finding any media
title takes just a single step. Whether it’s a song that just popped in your head or
the latest viral video, World Search quickly combs your entire media library and a
multitude of online content providers, displaying the results onscreen in a single
aggregate list so you can selectively play, download, or even purchase music and
movies right onscreen!
Web Browser—Browse the Web from your favorite chair, viewing everything on
your high-definition display while navigating with ease using a touchpanel or
handheld remote. Find online episodes of your favorite TV show – or the
YouTube video everyone is talking about – without crowding around a PC.
Blu-ray Disc Drive—Playing DVDs and importing CDs is supported right
onboard the ADMS. Watch any standard DVD, recorded DVD, or high-definition
Blu-ray movie in full resolution and surround sound. Import all your CDs into the
ADMS and organize them into libraries and playlists for easy access anytime you
want. When you insert the CD or DVD, the ADMS automatically locates and
displays the cover art graphics and other metadata such as artist, album and
song titles, movie synopsis and cast information. Adding a compatible DVD
changer provides ready access to an extensive DVD collection.
Multi-Format File Support—The ADMS supports a wide range of compressed,
lossless, and streaming media formats, including DRM protected Windows
Media ® and iTunes files. CDs imported on the ADMS can be encoded in highquality
MP3, WAV, WMA, and WMA Lossless. Other files can be imported via the
built-in MMC card slot (SD/SDHC compatible), a USB flash drive or card reader,
or from a networked computer.
Media Libraries and Playlists—The ADMS lets you organize and control your
media collection the way you want it. Multiple media libraries can be
personalized to suit the preferences of individual family members or special
occasions. Create a library of children’s videos and another of holiday music to
help narrow in on the specific media you want when you want it. Within a library,
you can compile playlists to suit a variety of moods and tastes.
On-Screen Interface with Home Control—Browsing through albums and tracks,
importing CDs, and organizing a complete music and video library is fun and
easy using the onscreen user interface. Displayed on your HD video display, the
beautiful graphical interface affords intuitive search and playback of all your
digital media content, and includes optional whole house control of lighting,
shades, climate control, and security that can be set up by your Crestron dealer.
Touchpanel Control—Every ADMS installation requires a Crestron control
system. Control of the ADMS is enabled using touchpanels, handheld remotes,
APADs, keypads, and computers located throughout the home. From any
touchpanel, you can view your entire media collection complete with album
cover art, and control every function of the ADMS integrated with the rest of
your system. Complete system programming is simplified using Crestron
SystemBuilder software.

Adagio ® Plug-and-Play—The ADMS affords easy plug-and-play setup as part of
an Adagio Home Entertainment System. Without any programming, Adagio
delivers access and control of the ADMS from every room in the house.
Front Panel Controls—As part of any Crestron system, the ADMS allows for
setup right from its front panel, letting the installer configure network
communications and system settings, and run audio and video test signals. The
large LCD display provides clear visual feedback during setup and operation.
Ultra-Quiet Design—The ADMS was engineered from top to bottom for high
performance, cool-running operation and the smallest possible “acoustic footprint.”
Extensive volumetric and heat generation testing produced an innovative
enclosure design that runs cool and quiet so you can put it where it’s accessible
to the user.
HDMI Theater AV Output—HDMI is the industry standard for highperformance
digital video and audio connectivity. The ADMS features an HDMI
output carrying 1080p HD video and uncompressed 7.1 surround sound, perfect
for integration into a high-performance Crestron home theater. HDCP is fully
implemented to ensure compliance with a complete range of digital video
displays and projectors. In addition to HDMI, there is also a 5.1 capable S/PDIF
audio output, as well as 7.1 analog audio and HD component video outputs.
Multi-Room Audio—The ADMS is a vital component of any multi-room audio
distribution system, providing 2 discrete stereo zones in addition to the main
theater zone. Listeners in any of the three zones can each enjoy their own choice
of music from any media library on the ADMS. Additionally, one ADMS can
stream media from other ADMS units connected to the same local network,
allowing for extensive content sharing and a virtually infinite number of
listening zones.
Easy Media Sync—The ADMS makes it easy to synchronize multiple ADMS
units over a local network or through the internet. Share your theater system
files with a second ADMS in the bedroom, or copy your entire home media
library to your vacation house or office for a consistent entertainment experience
no matter where you are.
Backup and Expansion—Storing a large collection of HD video and lossless
audio requires a lot of disc space. The ADMS allows for simple and costeffective
expansion and backup of its internal hard drive, supporting seamless
connectivity with shared NAS (Network Attached Storage) and Windows Home
Server devices, as well as direct connection of external USB and 1394 drives.
Ultimate Reliability—The ADMS is designed to be more secure and reliable
than any other home media server solution. All media stored on the ADMS is
kept safe using RAID 1 technology, utilizing dual redundant hard drives to
maintain two copies of your data in case either drive should fail. Built on the
Windows Vista Ultimate operating system, all aspects of the ADMS are locked
down to completely eliminate any vulnerability to malware, spyware, or viruses.
Windows security updates are verified and hosted by Crestron for automatic
download when needed. As well, optional add-ons and plug-ins are
downloadable by the end-user only from Crestron’s Website. The internal
Crestron Watchdog constantly monitors the performance and health of the
ADMS, resetting the system and sending an email notification to the dealer in
the event of an error. Remote access allows Crestron customer support to
assess most errors and restore proper functionality without ever going onsite
– and without losing any data.
