preview of a new recording in
preparation for the Naxos label,;
catch the latest Aradia project
involving three of the In
nativitatem Domini canticum
motets of Marc-Antoine
Charpentier (December 1). The
Aradia Ensemble, under the
direction of Kevin Mallon, is
joined by guest soloists Tracy
Smith Bessette, Christine
Stelmacovitch, John Tessier,
Brian Duyn, and Robert Stewart.
• Sartorio's Giulio Cesare in
Egitto (performed in Italian,
December 3, 5, & 7 at 8:00,
December 9 matinee at 2:00), is
probably the first staged
performance of this masterpiece,
since the 17m century, and will
showcase the young talent of the
Canadian Opera Company
Enseml11e Studio, including
Roger Hoµeywell, Krisztina
Szab6, Colleen Skull, Martha
Guth, and Shannon Mercer. This
presentation was made possible
with generous support from the
Baroque Opera Fund founded by
the late Peter E. Sandor.
Tom Diamond directs, and
Gary Thor Wedow is music director.
The Tafelmusik Baroque
Orchestra presents Viva L 'Italia,
a concert packed with Italian
concertos (December 6 - 9) by

Peter Harvey, baritone.
