General Notes<br />

o Metric Dimensions are in parenthesis ( ).<br />

o Type of wood – Open.<br />

• Pallet should withst<strong>and</strong> typical h<strong>and</strong>ling.<br />

• Pallet should withst<strong>and</strong> the weight of 17 bunks.<br />

o Pallets shall conform to ISPM 15.<br />

Pallet Notes<br />

o Board to be void of the following defects:<br />

• Cracks greater than 6 inches (152mm) in board direction.<br />

• Cracks greater than 2 inches (51mm) in cross board direction.<br />

• Holes greater than 3 inches (72mm) in diameter.<br />

o The following dimensions are intended to be minimums:<br />

• 1.25 inches for the pallet board thickness.<br />

• Nail dimensions.<br />

Bunk Packaging Notes<br />

o Bunk stack to be 17 high.<br />

o Each bunk to be individually b<strong>and</strong>ed with three strips of cardboard, two on the ends <strong>and</strong> one in the<br />

middle.<br />

o Entire bunk stack to be b<strong>and</strong>ed three ways vertically, <strong>and</strong> two ways across the stack.<br />

o Every two bunks to be b<strong>and</strong>ed together for additional support.<br />

o B<strong>and</strong> strap to go underneath pallet, fastening bunks to pallet.<br />

o Entire bunk stack to be wrapped in corrugated board <strong>and</strong> shrink wrapped.<br />

o Open end of the bottom bunk is to face the skid.<br />

Cracks are where the woods split on the top<br />

surface. These should not be greater than 6”<br />

(152 mm) long.<br />
