sentiments from the adler aphasia center Employees
Mike and Elaine Adler’s vision and generosity has provided a place where people and families dealing
with aphasia can go for support. Here’s to reaching an important milestone-- the 10th Anniversary of the
center! Janice Dittelman
Dear Mike & Elaine,
You have given people with aphasia and their families HOPE. Because of you they have:
Something to do, Someplace to be, Someone to love.
With much appreciation, Ginette Abbanat
“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” ~ Mother Teresa
Mike and Elaine Adler give so much, but they love more. I am blessed to experience them living their
legacy every day. Ava Coffee-Burks
Mike and Elaine embody what positive psychology calls “the meaningful life”. Their greatest source of
pleasure comes from their allegiance to things that are beyond themselves….their beliefs, their causes,
their politics…the list goes on. In all of this, they have not forgotten their family, nor even the causes of
others. But they believe deeply and passionately in doing good with what their talents and good fortune
have brought their way. They have reached out, supported, and enriched the lives of so very many.
Through their Center, Mike and Elaine have changed the world of aphasia, and people who cannot
speak for themselves. But the breadth of their contributions to the bigger world are just as palpable and
meaningful.
How does one say “Thank You to Mike and Elaine Adler? “ Audrey Holland
the mark they have made on the world of aphasia. Gretchen Szabo
When one door closes another door opens…. Thank you Elaine and Mike for opening your doors for
those who needed a refuge from what could have been a very lonely and scary journey. You have turned
tears of despair into tears of joy. Anyone who has walked through the doors of the Adler Aphasia Center
is forever changed. Amy May
From day one, the two of you with your passion, generosity, care and kindness for the human condition
have inspired the Board, staff, volunteers, members with aphasia and their families to thrive and flourish
in this healing and nurturing environment. We are all at the top of our game because you are our visionaries-
our stars of innovation. I am honored and grateful to have been part of this ten year journey.
With love, admiration and affection, Karen Tucker
When something bad happens, you can let it destroy you, let it define you, or let it strengthen you. On
behalf of our members and staff, thank you for being our pillars of strength. Lisa Goldstein
Not a day of work at the Adler Center goes by without me marveling at the place that you created. I
remain so proud to be amongst a team that offers people with aphasia the comfort, warmth, and opportunity
you have allowed us to give them. Thank you. Abbe Simon
