Many of us wouldn’t know much about Biology if it weren’t for Ms. Blanton. She has been<br />
teaching Biology 1 and 2 for <strong>Giles</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> since August of 2000. She also is the Science MACC<br />
Coach as well as the National Honor Society Sponsor. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Emory<br />
& Henry and her Master’s Degree from Radford University. She also was awarded <strong>Giles</strong> County<br />
Secondary Teacher of the Year and <strong>Giles</strong> County Teacher of the Year. <strong>Giles</strong> County Teacher of the Year<br />
was announced at the Chamber Banquet at Mountain Lake. When asked how she enjoys GHS, she<br />
answered, “I love teaching at <strong>Giles</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>. The faculty and students here are fun and easy to work<br />
with. Teaching gives me an opportunity to contribute in a positive way to the community.” She also<br />
feels very honored to be recognized by her peers for her hard work.<br />
