<strong>Uniform</strong> <strong>Requirements</strong> <strong>Year</strong> 7 <strong>to</strong> <strong>11</strong><br />
We consider appearance <strong>to</strong> be of the utmost importance and therefore expect all<br />
students who attend the school <strong>to</strong> wear uniform in <strong>Year</strong>s 7 - <strong>11</strong>. If students fail <strong>to</strong><br />
wear the correct uniform they will be challenged, and ultimately contact will be made<br />
with parents.<br />
Girls<br />
Compulsory<br />
Black blazer with <strong>Magdalen</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>School</strong><br />
badge. This is a compulsory part of the uniform.<br />
Plain black ‘A’ line skirt must reach knees, no<br />
lycra – fashion variations are not acceptable<br />
or plain black trousers – no fashion variations<br />
acceptable<br />
We strongly recommend that these are<br />
purchased from suppliers or are recognised<br />
alternatives – we have not found an acceptable<br />
alternative <strong>to</strong> the skirt on the high street, and<br />
have found few acceptable pairs of trousers.<br />
Rules will be strictly enforced.<br />
White revere collar blouse, short or long sleeve,<br />
not cap or three quarter (recommended from<br />
suppliers). Blouse may be tucked in or worn out<br />
but must not show below blazer or jumper<br />
Plain black or white socks, or plain black or flesh<br />
coloured tights (no patterns).<br />
Black formal school shoes (leather or<br />
equivalent). No heels. Training shoes of any<br />
description, ballet shoes, boots or any other soft<br />
soled shoes are not permitted.<br />
Optional<br />
Optional black jumper with MCS logo <strong>to</strong> only be<br />
worn under the blazer.<br />
Belt, optional, but must be plain black with small<br />
buckle.<br />
Boys<br />

sleeves) worn with <strong>to</strong>p but<strong>to</strong>n fastened and<br />
tucked in<strong>to</strong> trousers.<br />
MCS tie worn at all times, fully knotted, and<br />
worn so that fastened <strong>to</strong>p but<strong>to</strong>n cannot be<br />
seen.<br />
Plain black or white socks.<br />
Black formal school shoes (leather or<br />
equivalent). Training shoes of any<br />
description or boots are not permitted.<br />
Optional<br />

Jewellery<br />
The only acceptable items are 1 small plain gold or silver stud earring in each<br />
earlobe, and a watch. Any other piercings of any kind are not permitted.<br />
Make Up<br />
Should be unnoticeable. No nail varnish is allowed.<br />
Hair
Natural colours only. Stripes, blocks, patterns, braids and shaved lines are not<br />
acceptable.<br />

Artificial pitch (No studded or “bladed” boots are allowed on the Astro-Turf<br />
pitch)<br />
Additional Items: a protective apron for practical subjects<br />
