The Necessity for Christ's
- Second Coming!
Read the startling TRUTH regarding an event that will soon
startle this world!
TH E visible bodily cecurn of Jesus
Christ is nor a mere rheological
"idea." It is a FACT soon to be
revealecl-an absoiuce NECESSJTY for a
world on the verge of hltman annihilation.
Why God Is Concerned
To Arnold J. Toynbee, rhe historian
of civilizations, the unleashing of aromic
energy raises [he basic question of
man's survival in our time. He says:
"Since 1949, when Russia, [00, gm the
bomb, ir has become possible for rhe
human race [0 destroy itself. If we are
able to Jur-vi-ve, we are gOi11g to live in
danger from he1'C on,"
As reporeed in a survey of rweary
eminent historians in Look Magazine,
Professor Samuel Elliocr Morrison can·
cluded: "We have gor co ge, used co
living withom solutions. We have to
get filed to living in crisis after C'fiJiI,
hop;ng for the best, but expect;ng the
1uorst. 1I
Ir is high rime you learned why God
is concerned with humanity's threat of
self-extinction.
Stop and think!
Would the very Creator of heaven
and earth allow man CO completely de
Stroy this world as we know it-to defeat
the great PURPOSE He is working
our here below, a purpose of which
most men are in rotal ignorance?
A Religious Theory?
The educated of this world have come
to regard the prophecy of the second
coming of Jesus ChriSt, rhe Son of rhe
living God, as a myth or superstitiolls
jdea held by a few ignoranr folk. They
smile knowingly at one anorher whenever
the subject is mencioned.
Very few modern mIniSterS ever
speak abom Jesus' return. Most of
those who do preach on chis subject
often bring discred it on themselves and
by Rode rick C. Meredith
their messages by making startling Statements
co frighten people, or by setting
exact dates for certain events for which
they have no Biblical basis whatever.
Their particular exposition of this subject
is so obviously in error that the
educated listener usually winds up dis·
believing the emire doctrine.
It has come to the place that mOSt
so-called "Christian" churcbes in ou.r
time no longer teach their members
about the hundredJ of passages in the
Bible which speak of the second corning
of Jesus Christ to rule this world. Most
of the larger denominations do nOt di·
recdy deny this doctrine, they JUSt care·
fully avoid mentioning it, or else they
try to "allegorize it away."
Is the ItJ1J,re word of prophecy'l which
Peter speaks of to be relied upon as a
jact-or can we relegate these prophe·
cies to the rubbish heap as of 00 coose·
quence? Are these prophecies actually
taking place right now? Does the continuance
of human life on this planet
demand the intervention of God which
the prophecies in His Word foretell?
Is God's intervention a logical solution
to mounting world chaoJ?
A Startling Historical Admission
The. renowned historian, Edward
Gibbon, in the fifreenth chapter of his
authorirarive The Dec/;1Ie and Fall of
the R oman. Etn.pire--.,.recognized as a
standard work on this period of history
-admits that the doctrine of Christ's
second coming to earth was eaughe as a
FACT by rhe early Christian church. He
states: "The ancient and popular doctrine
of the Millennium was intimately
connected with the Jecond coming of
Christ. As the works of the creation had
been finished in six days, rheir dutari
on in their present state according to
a tradition which was attributed to the
Propher Eli jah was fixed co 6000 yeats.
By the same analogy it was inferred
that this long period of labor and con·
tention which was now almost elapsed,
would be succeeded by a joyful Sabbarh
of a thousand years; and that Christ,
with a triumphant band of the saints
and rhe e1ecr who had escaped dearh,
or who had been miraculously revived,
would reign upon earth rill the time appointed
for the last and general resur·
rection . . . The assurance of such a
Millennium was carefully inculcared by
a succession of fathers from Justin Martyr
and Irenaeus, who conversed with
{he immediate disciples of the apostles,
down to Lactantius, who was preceptOr
co the son of Constantine ... But when
the edifice of the church was almost
completed, rhe temporary suppOrt was
laid aside. The doctrine of Christ's reign
upon earth was at first treated as a
profound allegory, was considered by
degrees as a doubtful and useless opin·
ion, and was at length rejected as rhe
absurd invention of heresy and fan3ti·
cism."
NOTICE!
Here are the words of the recognized
"authoriry" on the history of this time.
As a bisto r;a1~n ot a theologian-be
states thar the early church taught the
doctrine of the second coming of Christ
as a FACf-bm that it was later grad·
ually rejected or in many cases rreared
as a "profound allegory! "
Modern theologians have clearly DE
PARTED from reaching rhe people abour
a REAL God who can and soon 1Qill intervene
it: world affairs.'
Recent world events are beginning
to FORCE thinking men to admit that
things are "different" now. For if there
is a real God i11 heaven, then NOW is rhe
time for that God to intervene and
send His Son ChriSt back co literally
"save" this world from destroying itself!
President John F. Kennedy admirted
in his inaugural address: "The world is
VERY DIFFERENT now. For man holds in
