You hold the view that theVedas were not revealed at a time when the ocean of sin wasin spate, but that they were revealed, instead when the calm ofsinlessness prevailed over land and sea. Do you then considerit inconceivable that a Prophet should appear when the floodof sin rages high and rapidly inundates every country of theworld?I do hope that you are not so ignorant of the facts ofhistory. When our Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings ofAllah be upon him) honoured the office of prophethood withhis advent, the age had plunged into utter darkness and noaspect of human conduct was free from the blemish of sin andfalse beliefs. Pundit Dyanand writes in his book SatyarathParkash, that even in the land of Aryawart [which takes pridein its monotheistic beliefs] idolatry had replaced the worshipof God, and the Vedic faith had become extensivelycorrupted.Reverend Pfander, a white European priest and a staunchdefender of Christian faith, also endorses these views in hisbook, Mizan-ul-Haq. He observes that at the time of theinception of Islam, the Christians had become the mostcorrupt among all the religious denominations. The lewd andwanton conduct of the Christians of the time was a source ofshame and dishonour for Christianity.
