Course Description: Costa Esuri WestHole 1: Par 4, Stroke 17A gentle opening hole that should yield birdies. The drive is the most demanding shot on this hole, soconcentrate on keeping it straight to leave yourself about 100m from the green. Attack the pin! Straightforwardbirdie opportunities will be few and far between for the rest of your round.Hole 2: Par 4, Stroke 5.This par 4 is very long. The fairway is wide so you can go for a big drive to give yourself a chance ofreaching the green in two. Be prepared to make a pitch and putt par though.Hole 3: Par 3, Stroke 15A long par 3 where you will need a good shot to hit the green. The easiest chip up to the pin is fromshort of the green so don’t overextend yourself trying to get there, swing easy and keep it straight! Theentrance to the green is wide open so any straight shot could roll up onto the putting surface. Watch outif the wind is blowing towards the river!Hole 4: Par 4, Stroke 3The driver is key on this long par 4 so go for a big drive. The green has a steep slope guarding the frontso it will be difficult to hit and hold from a long way out. Watch out for the water to the right of thegreen, it’s not that far away.Hole 5: Par 3, Stroke 11.Don’t be discouraged if you miss the green on this very long par 3. Be prepared to chip and putt. If youdo miss the green try to miss it short and straight as that leaves the easiest chip up to the pin.Hole 6: Par 5, Stroke 7.The most difficult aspect of this par 5 is the slope up to the green. Take at least two clubs extra to makesure you get your ball up the hill and onto the green. Watch out if the pin is at the back because thegreen has a severe slope between its two levels, if you’re short you’ll have a tough time getting down intwo.Hole 7: Par 4, Stroke 9.This par 4 should be something of a respite after the tough preceding holes. But don’t be fooled, apoor drive could leave you with serious problems. If you have the length try to drive it over the treeson the right to leave yourself a short iron to the green. If not hit it towards the bunkers on the left, youshouldn’t have much more than a mid-iron to the green from there.Hole 8: Par 4, Stroke 13.Try to make sure you hit your drive down the right side of the fairway on this par 4. Your approach tothe green will be much easier from that side. The fairway is wide so you can afford to attack on thisrelatively straightforward hole.Hole 9: Par 5, Stroke 1You’ll need two solid shots to get within range to attack the pin on this long, tough par 5. Don’t try tocut too much off the corner on your second shot, the risk isn’t worth the reward. You can be satisfiedwith a mid-iron for your third shot.

Hole 10: Par 5, Stroke 2.A delightfully challenging hole. If your driver is working you can try to hit it over the hill on theright of the fairway and even go for the green in two. Don’t go too far right though, there’s waterwaiting down the right side of the fairway. If you don’t fancy going over the top, be prepared to layup your second shot short of the water crossing the fairway. It’s a good, solid play though as you’llonly have about 110m left to the green.Hole 11: Par 4, Stroke 4.Another long, tough par 4 that will need a good drive to be reached in two shots. Don’t try to taketoo much off the corner on your drive, there’s a second bunker hidden down the left side. Watch outon your shot to the green, there’s a steep slope short and water over the back so if you’re hitting afairway wood or long iron into the green make sure you hit it high otherwise stopping it before thewater could be a problem.Hole 12: Par 3, Stroke 8Intimidating. It’s a long carry over the water so aim at the left side of the green where the steepbank will feed your ball down onto the green. Especially if you’re hitting a wood! The green isseverely sloped so getting your ball onto the correct level is key. Take an extra club!Hole 13: Par 4, Stroke 14.Looks harder from the tee than what it actually is. Hit a long iron or fairway wood from the tee toleave yourself a mid to short iron to the green. The difficult aspect of this hole is the wild terrain tothe right of the fairway, you want to avoid it at all costs! So play smart from the tee and you mightbe able to make birdie here.Hole 14: Par 4, Stroke 6.You need to play smart on this tough par 4. The fairway narrows just where you’ll probably be landingyour drive. If you can, try to keep your drive low and take advantage of the high tee to get someroll and the extra distance you’ll need to be able to hit the green in two. When hitting your secondshot watch out for the different levels on the green. If you land the ball in the wrong place its almostguaranteed to get wet! The best play is to land the ball short and let it roll up.Hole 15: Par 4, Stroke 18.Time to make birdie. Go for a long drive over the bunkers, if you make it you’ll be left with a chipup to the green or with a good bounce you might even make the putting surface. If you don’t wantto go over the bunkers play to the left with a fairway wood and you’ll have a short or mid iron tothe green. Be careful where you land the ball on the green though, steep slopes make for unpredictablebounces.Hole 16: Par 3, Stroke 12.It’s very long, there’s trouble left, trouble right and water over the back. The logical choice here is afairway wood or driver, struck low and rolling up to the green. It’s a tough green to hit so try to putyourself in a position where you can make a chip putt par. And on this monster par 3, that meansshort or front edge.Hole 17: Par 5, Stroke 16.If you’re feeling good there’s an eagle to be made on this technically demanding but shortish par 5.The green is definitely reachable in two shots but it is tough to hold from a long way out. So rip itoff the tee, if you can get it a long way down the fairway then go for the green. Otherwise be sensible. There are plenty of birdies to be made with a wedge for your third shot.Hole 18: Par 4, Stroke 10.Straightforward finishing hole. Unless closing hole nerves get the better of you this par 4 shouldn’tcause too many problems. Attack from the tee as the fairway is wide. The hill up to the greendoesn’t look like much but it’s worth taking an extra club to make sure you get there.

Course Description: Costa Esuri EASTHole 1: Par 4 – Stroke 14Teeing off from well above the fairway the hole is shorter than it looks. You must avoid the right sideof the fairway as water awaits. Aim well left towards the bunker down the left side of the fairway. Thegreen is above the fairway so make sure you take enough club to get up the hill. The green has a steepplatform so leaving your ball on the wrong one will leave a tough putt.Hole 2: Par 4 – Stroke 10A good drive is necessary on this narrow hole. To avoid problems it might be advisable to hit a fairwaywood from the tee to avoid the water down the right side. Aim towards the second fairway bunker alongthe left side of the fairway. On your approach try to keep the ball over the right side of the bunker to theleft of the green, there is a lot of green hidden behind it.Hole 3: Par 3 – Stroke 16A fairly straightforward par 3 where the most demanding aspect is the shallow green. Club selection isvital.Hole 4: Par 4 – Stroke 6Aim your drive to the right of the fairway bunker unless you are a very big hitter. Once up onto the fairwaythe approach to the green is relatively short so there is no need to risk too much on the drive. Thegreen is elevated and heavily sloped, so make sure you take enough club to get up the hill. You can usethe slopes at the back of the green to stop the ball or even to bring it back towards the hole.Hole 5: Par 4 – Stroke 2Toughest par 4 on the course and a superb hole. You need a long drive to be able to reach the greencomfortably. Trying to hit this small green over the water from a long way out will not be easy. There isa bail out area short left of the green but be careful as it slopes down towards the water.Hole 6: Par 3 – Stroke 12If you cannot carry the bunker with enough height to stop the ball on the small green of this long par 3,try to play towards the bail out area to the left of the green. The chip back down the hill from over thegreen is not too demanding though. Better long than short here.Hole 7: Par 4 – Stroke 4A very tough driving hole and a tough par 4. If you can make it through the bottleneck between bunkerand water go for a long drive aimed out over the bunker on the right of the fairway. If not play shortand try to make a pitch and putt par. Watch out for the way the fairway slopes down towards the waterbefore the green.Hole 8: Par 4 – Stroke 18A bit of a breather after the tough preceding holes. Make sure you keep your drive on the fairway andthis should be a birdie opportunity. It would probably be a good idea to hit a fairway wood off the tee asthe hole is short and the fairway narrow.

Hole 9: Par 5 – Stroke 8If you can keep your drive down the left side of the fairway there are some steep slopes thatwill kick your ball forward and into the center of the fairway. On your approach to the green, make sure you do not miss to the right. You can use the slopes on the left of the green to bringyour ball in towards the flag.Hole 10: Par 4 – Stroke 15Against the wind this is a tough drive over the water so make sure you give it a good hit. Thegreen is small so club selection is vital on your approach.Hole 11: Par 3 – Stroke 17A tough par 3 where the best shot is to draw the ball into the green. Watch out however for theway the slope short of the bunker to the right of the green will take your ball right down into thebushes.Hole 12: Par 4 – Stroke 3A superb risk and reward hole. Long hitters can try and drive the green and although it is a longway with risk you can turn the hole into a certain birdie. Medium hitters should play onto thefairway and then try to reach the green with the second shot. It is a long way around however sobe prepared for a pitch and putt par.Hole 13: Par 3 – Stroke 7An excellent par 3 that requires nerves of steel to make par. The green is triangle shaped offeringvery little space and steep slopes all around. Be careful, there is no putting surface over thebunker to the right of the green. And don’t forget to enjoy the superb view down to the bridge, aperfect sunset hole.Hole 14: Par 4 – Stroke 9A beautiful looking hole with the possibility for a nasty bite. It is vital to keep your drive onthe fairway, perhaps even hitting a fairway wood to take the water and bunkers out of play. Onyour approach try to keep your ball on the same platform as the pin as the green has some steepslopes.Hole 15: Par 4 – Stroke 13A tight driving hole where the large bunker is in play off the tee. Play short of it as there is notfar to go to reach the green. Do not miss the green over the bunker to the right of the green asthere is a severe slope down with deep rough.Hole 16: Par 5 – Stroke 1The sightlines from the tee are slightly blocked as you tee off into a valley. The best line isdown the left side of the fairway as the trouble down the right is closer than you think. On yoursecond you need to get the ball down as close as possible to the corner or you will have a longthird over water into the green.Hole 17: Par 4 – Stroke 11Try to get your drive up and over the hill to take advantage of the slope and get as close to thegreen as you can. Club selection on your approach to the green is vital as the green is shallowand the water waits short.Hole 18: Par 5 – Stroke 5A fairly uncomplicated par 5 to finish off with a chance for a birdie. If you can make it over thewater on your second shot you will have a short pitch up to the green. As the saying goes, keepit straight, and you’ll have no problems.
