<strong>Programme</strong> OverviewIntroductionWe would like to extend a very warm <strong>in</strong>vitation to you to attend IPEM’s annualMedical <strong>Physics</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Conference, <strong>and</strong> the Biennial Radiotherapy<strong>Physics</strong> Conference, <strong>in</strong> Oxford from the 10th – 12th September 2012.Invited <strong>and</strong> eponymous speakers <strong>in</strong> this year’s programme <strong>in</strong>clude Pr<strong>of</strong> SirMuir Gray, Pr<strong>of</strong> Lionel Tarassenko, Dr Eric Drexler, Mr Jim Warr<strong>in</strong>gton, <strong>and</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>Sue Hill, the Chief Scientific Officer. The scientific programme will provide threeparallel sessions, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g jo<strong>in</strong>t sessions with the <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Physics</strong> Medical<strong>Physics</strong> Group <strong>and</strong> the British Nuclear Medic<strong>in</strong>e Society, as well as educationalworkshops, <strong>and</strong> sessions on plann<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the future workforce, <strong>and</strong> onscience communication. There will also be an extensive commercial exhibition,<strong>and</strong> a poster area featur<strong>in</strong>g posters cover<strong>in</strong>g all IPEM discipl<strong>in</strong>es.
